It's worth checking how hazy it is before heading to the top of this office block as I've been twice now and the second visit was so much more spectacular with clear skies. The views are stunning and gives you an idea just how sprawling Berlin is. The DB HQ blocks out some of the sights towards the Tiergarten but the rest is well worth it. There is a cafe at the top though I've not tried it. Sometimes there are queues but they seem to move quite quickly.

We stopped off here on a whim while on a bus tour around berlin. The weather was beautiful and we didn't have to que to get in. It was a really great experience with interesting information all around the viewing point in English. There was also really interesting photos alongside which we really enjoyed. The view was great although it's a shame it's surrounded by fencing so it's not as good as it could be but nevertheless we thought it was good value and are glad we did it. Would recommend it if you are in the area or passing through.

Visited in June 2013.

Low-cost and queue-avoiding alternative for the Fernsehturm on Alexanderplatz.

On your way to the elevator : Interesting video about the different looks of Potsdamer Platz since 1920.

But the main reason for your visit - the view - is not great : towards the most interesting parts of the town (north and east of the tower) it is partly blocked by the DB-skyscraper and by the building itself.

Deceptive publicity towards BerlinWelcomeCard holders : the 25% reduction advertised applies only on a package deal of 8,00€ (entrance fee + useless leaflet), not on the basic entrance fee of 5,50€.

Would really not recommend this place.

As a low-cost alternative to Fernsehturm, the Siegessaüle - even if it's much lower - is probably a better bet... since the view is not blocked by anything. But it has 270 steps and no elevator...

Paid ?5.50 entry, didnt actually spend much time on the viewing platform. The cafe had great looking cakes but not much in terms of food. It was a bit hard to find the building though!

The viewpoint offers a great view of the city and informative boards of the Potsdamplatz history. It is good value for money, especially on a nice day. Also worth the price of the admission is the lift operator who takes his job VERY seriously and delivers the statistics of the lift in an unintentionally hilarious, robotic manner.
