“Good hotel, excellent location”
Reviewed January 4, 2011

I'm not sure if the hotel is worth all of it's stars. I.m.o. it's more a 3,5 to 4 star hotel. Nevertheless we had a great stay. The interior of the lobby is really quirky but perhaps somewhat outdated. The room was equipped with a nice size bed, lots of storage space and an open plan bathroom making it more roomy.

The staff behind the counter is polite and friendly. Though being pretty expensive the hotel aims mainly on young adults. If you like traditional German hotels this probably won't be your cup of tea. But if you're looking for a unique hotel which stands out of the herd Hotel Q! is a great place to stay.

Staying at the hotel overnight is okay though we had a bit of a problem adjusting the room temperature. The room was a bit too hot due to unnecessary heating.

The location is really excellent. Just around the corner you'll find the Ku'damm, the main shopping area of western Berlin. The U-Bahn (underground) is located at approximately 5 minutes from the hotel. We preferred taking the S-Bahn (trains) on Savignyplatz station which is at about the same distance.

All in all we had a great stay and would without a doubt recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The hotel is rather hard to find as it doesn't have a sign outside. The reception area is small and staff are friendly but vary in degrees of inefficiency. The rooms are, well, weird. Storage is good but there is a lack of usable space. The sink and shower in the room is odd - it's fine for a single but I wouldn't necessarily want to be sharing. The bed is relatively comfortable. The aircon is VERY noisy so I was pleased I didn't need it. The room is quiet which is nice. While you don't want to necessarily spend time in your room, the fact that the only English channel is CNN is disappointing - and easily resolved. Breakfast is good but again is expensive. The area around the Hotel has a couple of really nice restaurants for dinner and is in a nice neighbourhood. If you're in Berlin for a long weekend, be sure to do the Fat Tire Bike tour - really good way to see the city covering a lot of ground.

The hotel has an amazing, modern design - however, not in all cases does form follow function. The bathrooms of the spacious suites (however, more a big room than a suite) are integrated in an open room concept - which looks stylish but is slightly impractical if you require any privacy. The breakfast menue is good and staff friendly, location unbeatable to exlore Berlin. Despite being in the centre of everything, the windows are so good that not a sound enters your dreams. Makes for great quiet sleeping.

We were there with friends and had 2 rooms on the sixth floor (room 602 and 603),the only 2 rooms with terrace (standard room) and we like very much our room ,nice design and the beds are super, the rooms are soundproof and there was no noise from the streets ,the location is perfect for the metro and train. For the ladies there is kurfustendam with 1000 shops :-) ... breakfast is very delicious with a lot of choice (fresh fruit juice),the only negatice point in this hotel is the bar ,don't go in the evenings here because this is a member bar and there was nobody on a saturday evening . Please book room 602 and 603 ,you have a nice view to the streets ,because backyard view is not so nice

Booked it via expedia after seeing countless chintzy/flocked rooms - this was a breath of fresh air. Everyone was very happy, polite, charming, friendly and the piped muzak whilst walking through the corridor is one of my favourite tunes (Sous le soleil - Amelia). Unique styling of rooms and Aveda toiletries - how can you go wrong? Didn't really stay in the hotel too much, but in the bar - all staff were totally accommodating and were happy to play along and understand my basic German.

I have book the hotel via Booking, obviously using my valid credit card as a guarantee, however the hotel, without any e-mail correspondence with me, canceled my booking claiming that the card is not valid. After calling my bank I have found out that it is their system's fault, however the hotel continued to claim that my card is not valid, which is very rude from anyone especially in hospitality management. Our mail correspondence continued for 24h, always with another person, but in the same rude style as they were offering no solution for their system's fault and still claiming that it is only my problem. After this I will never again stay in such a rude hotel, there are other establishments in Berlin with far more pleasant customer service. Thank you Q hotel for reminding me that not all is in design :-).
