We had an excellent stay at the q hotel, the rooms are minimalist but very stylish, although do not come with much privacy (ie not suitable for parent and chile perhaps). Location is excellent in West Berlin, near to shops, christmas markets, good bars and restaurants and an s-Bahn station.

The staff were the real stars of the hotel, consistently friendly at all times of day, and very happy to provide directions or good restaurant recommendations.

Room Tip: First floor roo on the street side was very noisy if you want the windows open.

This is a lovely friendly hotel in an excellent location in Berlin. Within walking distance of the main shopping street and plenty of places to eat.
The staff are helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
It is a bit quirky but comfortable. Wifi is free just get a password from reception
The only downside we had was the bedroom was very warm and we couldn't get it cooler as well as having to crawl in and out of bed on one side due to the style of the room.

This is a superb hotel in a great area. The staff were unfailingly polite, helpful, with a lovely lighthearted manner and sense of humour. The rooms are quite unusual, and are very open, so there isn't much privacy, but we loved our room. They were refreshingly quiet, given that I am quite noise sensitive, ours was right next to the lift and the Cleaners' Cupboard, and we were in the middle of a city. We enjoyed a fun evening in the bar, but didn't have any of the food.
I would not only recommend this hotel highly, but would always stay there when we visit Berlin.

This is a great hotel in a wonderful area of Berlin. My wife and I spent a few days travelling to every different area and must say we found this area to be the nicest and very easily accessible to the more central. The hotel is quirky, staff are very helpful and always friendly and polite. Wifi is free to use but can be hit or miss sometimes, that said it was the only place in Berlin we got free wifi! Bar area is good too with friendly staff and plenty of choices of drinks! All in all would definitely stay again and recommend to others, the only down side and it really is minor....there was no where in the room to make tea or coffee!

Visited this hotel through a special offer on Secret Escapes in September 2013.

The hotels central location is a perfect base for a few days in Berlin.

The reception staff are really helpful and the rooms are clean. The only downside is that smoking is allowed in the hotel bar which is not good for a non smoker.

We had breakfast included in the room rate, however I don't think it's worth the €20 price tag & there are loads of cafes nearby for breakfast/brunch.

We stayed here for two nights. Another three-and-a-half star place. I do wish we could star more precisely!

The hotel was difficult to find, as the sign outside is so subtle, it can only be seen in good light when both glass doors are shut. (Luckily, we had the full address.) And this was part of the problem - it seemed that the hotel started from a quirky name and a design idea, and practicality followed very much later, Even the room numbers were displayed so discreetly, they took some finding. Form did not follow function, so comfort and practicality had to take a back seat. For example: the sloping bedside was annoying when getting in/out of bed on one side; the washbasin on the other side meant that the second sleeper could only get in/out of bed at the foot end. The washbasin also caused the constant danger of the bed getting wet. The shower was not private. There was nowhere comfortable to sit, and the position of the only chair blocked the way through.

However, we did find the beds comfortable once we'd struggled into them, and the room was very clean. The usual toiletries were provided. We liked the iPod dock and the good TV. In two days, I'm sure we didn't try out all the lighting options - one can have any combination of subtle lights on.

We didn't try the breakfast, as it would have cost E20 extra each, and we don't eat that much breakfast. But there are loads and loads of good eating places around. We chose to enjoy breakfast at iconic Krantzler, just down the road. We were very happy with the location of the hotel - in what had been the centre of West Berlin. The book shop across the road is worth a look or two, and the Berlin Story museum over the Kudamm is very good, with the chilling but fascinating cold war bunker beneath it.

When our luggage was saved for us after we checked out, we were pleased to find that it was properly labelled and locked away.

A clean, acceptable hotel in a good (in a bourgeois way) location, which we'd have enjoyed even more if appearance and quirkiness could have been made subservient to comfort.

Stayed at the Q! for three nights on a mini-vacation to Berlin. Would definitely return. The hotel has a great, accommodating staff to go with very modern rooms. Breakfast is good. Location is quite nice -- not the hippest part of Berlin but a very upscale area with nice shops and good restaurants. The metro is close by. If you plan to spend much time in the room, the upfront rooms facing out are more stylish.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces out on the street instead of in the back. More expensive to be sure but mo...
