Good little hotel in an excellent location. Breakfast worthy of 5 star property. Close to KaDeWe, bus and U-bahn. Would recommend it! With hindsight, I would perhaps have preferred to be in East Berlin nearer to the main sights, but I was very pleased with this choice. Staff most helpful, easy to get to and from Tegel by taxi. Our return journey back to the airport was only €16 - not bad for an airport taxi in a European capital.

Golden Tulip is pretty much what it says in the tin. Good, decent hotel with excellent location. We spent there a long weekend in late May from Thursday to Monday with our 11 year old daughter.

From Tegel airport you can take a bus which takes you pretty close to Zoo station, but because it was kinda late when we arrived we took a cab. It was 25 euros to the hotel. For some reason or another it was only 17 euros back to the airport on Monday. As somebody mentioned earlier there is a taxi rank close to the hotel.

From the reception we got a Berlin map and also tickets for the public transportation system. For three person we had a small group ticket, which was about 15 euros/day. Definitely a good bargain.

Rooms were clean, well-kept and we found ours well big enough for three of us. It faced the street, but it was a quiet one, so although you could hear the noise from the street it really didn’t bother us.

I missed the free wifi in the rooms, but as we were on holiday, it wasn’t such a big deal. There was a PC in the lobby and also a printer anyone was able to use, so I could make a check-in for our return-flight there.

If you have read the other reviews you probably already know that it’s less than ten minute walk to KaDeWe and to the nearest Undergroud station (Wittenbergplatz). Also within the walkin’ distance is the Zoo, the nearest S-station (The Zoo), Kurfursdamm with its high street fashion shops, Europa center etc.

Over and all without a hesitation I can recommend the Golden Tulip hotel whether you are travelling alone or with a family. I haven’t mentioned the staff yet, but as so many has said already, we found them friendly and we definitely felt welcome.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, we arrived early and were able to check in which we greatly appreciated. A nice walk to the shopping areas and up to the Brandenburg Gate through the Tiergarten. The breakfast is described as opulent in the hotel information! There is a nice selection of hot and cold foods. Reception staff are helpful and have good maps of Berlin to mark points of interest. Only draw back of this hotel is free wifi is only available in the lobby. Great stay in Berlin.

My wife and I were in Berlin for a short vacation and this hotel was recommended by a friend. It's quite centrally located close to the Zoologischer Garden and Tiergarten.

The hotel staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean.

We would definately return to this hotel the next time we visit Berlin. We looked forward to the breakfast each morning as there was such a great choice!!

Front-desk staff ( Djamila) extremely helpfull. When she saw 2 persons with 4 pieces of luggage, she suggested an upgrade to the 10th floor for 15Euro per day additional. Perfect suggestion ! All the staff was friendly / the restaurant excellent. Location is perfect=quiet street, but near 100 bus-line . Also for normal walkers, so much can be reached on foot ( incl the Reichstag).........Very pleased and easy to recommend !
