“5* Bed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

As you would expect from Ritz Carlton - The service and facilities were great.

The highlight of the hotel is the bed ... it was so nice I didnt bother leaving it for 2 days .... had to return to Berlin to visit the slights I missed whilst spending 48hour in the Ritz Carlton Bed.

We arrived at the hotel in a late weekend mid November afternoon. Were cold and tired after the flight but then we felt much better when the bellman came help us with our luggage, and took us to the reception, we checked in quickly with the help of the front desk staff, the valet escorted us to the room and took really good care of us. The room was incredible and spotless, the bed was huge and comfy, they put lots of extra pillows, I loved it. Just have everything we needed. The location was really good and convenience. Just few minutes walk to the main station and shopping center. The concierge went out of their way to help us what should we do and where to go. When we checked out, we wanted to see the city so they offered to keep our luggage for free! It was a great experience!

We arrived late and our room was incredible. We stayed 3 nights and found this location execellent for late night walks, morning breakfasts in the potsdamer plaz and the train station was nearby to catch our train to Prague.

Stayed at 10th floor, club level. Similar to other Ritz' fantastic, can not go wrong. Great location and they will go the extra mile to help you. Club lounge is good too. Restaurant is good but they should o something about the air, cloths smell due to open kitchen - which is nice to watch and the food is great but cloth do smell. Great escape.

We stayed for two nights in November 2012, in a standard room. No real view from the room--actually, we stared straight into an office building, and I had fun spying on the working Berliners (who, incidentally, seem to work very hard--people were at their desks into the night and on Saturdays).

The bed was (apologies to Westin) heavenly. Supportive, with a sea of fluffy pillows. We spent many a jetlagged hour in it. The bathroom was spacious and the overhead shower had good pressure. Furnishing was old school Ritz, but with some modern touches like the electronic shades.

The Xmas decorations were up by the time we came, so we enjoyed the enormous Christmas tree in the lobby, and other tinselly goodness. The Potsdamer Platz Christmas market was right across the street, for convenient bratwurst and gluhwein.

We had a swim in the tiny pool at the spa--this was the one place where I felt the hotel was lacking. Though beautiful, with tiny lights in the decorated ceiling that resemble stars, the pool is miniscule and very crowded when we went. Pool service was nonexistent, with no water available outside the steam room or anywhere near the pool, and no towels to be found. Old towels were strewn everywhere.

However, overall we had no complaints about the hotel service; staff were friendly and helpful. We left luggage for a couple of days while we went out of town, and the bellmen were great about it, even giving us some Ritz Berlin luggage tags when we left (with a photo of said bellmen, cute!).

We stayed on points and it was a Tier 2 points level, certainly worth it.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton for four nights. It was a lovely hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. The room was excellent and clean. Although we had a king size bed but two separate duvets which was a bit strange.

The restaurant where we had breakfast was fantastic and the selection of food was fabulous the service from the staff was impressive. Although I'd be loathed to pay 38 euros for the breakfast normally.

Part of the hotel was closed for refurbishment, making it inaccessible. We were not told this on arrival or when we booked which was a shame.

The doormen were incredibly cheery and friendly. They always had a smile on their faces and were always willing to help. When we left we presented with some roasted chestnuts for our journey to the airport which was a nice touch.

The location of the hotel is superb. It is within walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the Jewish Memorial. In addition to this it is directly opposite Potsdamer Platz underground station which means the rest of Berlin is easily accessed.

Overall it was a wonderful hotel in an excellent location and I would stay there again.

The location in Potsdamer Platz is fabulous, the staff could not have been more helpful and arranged for us to change rooms as we found the initial room we were allocated just a bit noisy due to the work going on in the hotel when we were there. The room was spacious and extremely comfortable we were provied with a double quilt on request, we used the gym, sauna and pool, all of which were great. The location is really central, sights such as Brandenburger Tor and the Reichstag are walking distance and you can get anywhere else you need to go from the station opposite the hotel. The only comment I have is in relation to the breakfast, does it really have to be so expensive?? There are plently of breakfast places around the hotel offering very good breakfasts for a fraction of the price. I would recommend the hotel for the very comfortable rooms, location and the friendly attitude of the staff, I dont thnk you can do much better in Berlin than this.

Room Tip: Go as high as you can inacorner room for the views of the city.
