Lovely room - good value - good location. Experience brought down by a rude receptionist who argued with us after we complained that the wifi we paid 20€ for did not work 2/3 days we stayed - unwilling to help and was worried that if she refunded us it might be charged to her personally - not good enough. Also another receptionist was unable to name any shopping districts than the mall Alexa when asked and was generally unhelpful.

The hostel is in the Eastern part of Berlin and Friedrichshain is an incredible part of town with a really relaxed and hip atmosphere, was a genuine joy to walk around the streets. The takeaway food on offer is delicious and the newsagents sell an abundance of interesting and tasty German lagers. The transport is so good you can get a train quickly to most tourist attractions/clubs and is worth being a little out from the centre to get this true Berlin vibe. The hostel was reasonably comfortable but very formal and generic. At first the staff seemed nice but then quite bluntly refused to turn let us watch the Murray v Djokovic final on the TV. Security told our room to be quiet at one point at about half 11 at night which made it feel like a school trip.

Hostel has one of the best locations for transport. Right next to Ostbahnhof train station and in a really cool area. Good value for money in that respect. However shower was broken and room was pretty grim.

So, good things first. Good location and pretty big rooms. Quite a nice patio. I'm not a person who complains and i don't expect luxury, i just want to enjoy holiday, but... when we entered the room, it was SO dirty, there were empty bottles, cigarettes and condoms (!) everywhere on the floor. We asked politely at the reception if a cleaning lady could do something with this mess, because apparently it has been like this for 2 days. What we heard is that it's not the fault of the staff. There are no curtains in the showers so it was a bit stressful and embarassing to use them. I mentioned a nice patio, which is really nice, shame that the staff came every evening at 10 p.m. and asked people to be quiet (although it wasn't really loud, people were just talking and enjoying the evening). We also wanted to prepare a meal in the kitchen, which was quite a challenge, because it's necessary to pay the deposit to use the kitchen and there's nothing there, no cutlery, pots etc. To sum up, the place definitely has a potential, but some changes would be nice. I stayed in many cheap hostels and i liked them all, so i don't exaggerate,

Great location - next to all the trendy bars and restaurants of Simon Dach Strasse. Lots of Flea markets close at hand. Lots of inexpensive bars and take away food cafe's. Can get huge handmade pizzas a few doors down for 4EUR. There is a large Lidl supermarket up the street. The Hotel is above a Whole foods health supermarket. There are lots of bakeries with sit-in cafe's selling all sorts of delights. Lots of inexpensive bars. with seating outside - was there in winter but imagine in summer it's quite busy and vibrant. Area reminded me of Camden London, before it got over-commercialised. My mum thought it reminded her of New York. Avoid the centre stay in a more authentic area of Berlin. The hotel is on all tram routes and U-Bahn routes - takes mins to get anywhere - never seen a transport system like this! fantastic! No complaints - apart from when we checked in - we had booked through booking dot com a quadruple room - for use as 2 people as it was the same price. When we got there, after travelling across Europe, we were told 'this was not allowed' and we would have to be put into a double room - and pay EXTRA as it was all booked up. After kicking up a huge fuss they let us keep the room - but the reception seems to be run by snotty arrogant kids.

Room Tip: stay in the hotel rather than the hostel, book the hotel via booking dot com or similar rather than...

I stayed in the hotel room which I found to be very clean. The hotel is cheap and in a good location (takes about 20 mins to get to the centre by subway). The rooms are basic but you get what you pay for. There are a few inconveniences, for example, having to pay 20 euro deposit for use of the kitchen, having to pay for wi-fi after the first 24 hours (but still cheap for 5 euro per 24 hours), and not having any tea or coffee facilities in the hotel room. The breakfast is standard, nothing special. I would stay there again simply for the cleanliness, cheap room, comfortable beds, and location.

despite my small complaint letter that I left at reception on the day of my departure, I have no answer or explanation, well, just someone had a working visit, I advice not take this hotel, especially at night in the corridor and even in your room you will listen to the sounds of one love, especially if your room next to the reception and parking, people talk all night with their bottle of beer .

Room Tip: I advise you not to accept the room next to the reception and parking, if not you people too much no...
