Good value for money. Clean, comfortable rooms. Easy access to transport, which will connect you to anywhere in the city. The bar is reasonably priced and they locked away my laptop on the last day for security reasons, free of charge.

Room Tip: Twin with private bathroom. £145 for 2 people for 4 nights!!!!

I spent one night in that hostel when was on my way to Schonefeld Airport. Decided to stay there because of a very good connection to the airport and city center. There is S-Bahn station next to the hostel and the journey to the airport takes around 25 minutes (direct train S9).
Everything was fine, pretty big and clean room. Beside free wi-fi the hostel has a few computers with paying access to internet. The price is very reasonable.

This hostel doesn't really fit the mold; it's decorated in a futuristic way obviously to the theme of a power station. I didn't mind it and it was always clean while I stayed there. I sprung for a private room knowing that I would want privacy after making it home from Berlin's amazing nightlife. The room actually had two beds which was nice as I could have a fresh one each night. The room was clean except for confetti somehow still strewn all over the floor, I guess the cleaners didn't feel like vacuuming. The furnishings are simple, no doubt about it, but adequate if all you want is a dark room to sleep in. The bathroom was tiny, especially for six-foot-plus guy like myself. Still, it was good enough for a quick shower before heading out. The staff were friendly and I guess would have been helpful but this time I didn't need advice so can't comment on that. The place is easy to find, being just around the corner from a tram stop (M5 and M6 go by it). The location isn't bad by any stretch; it's not on Alexanderplats but that's why it's cheaper. A ten-minute tram ride drops you there anyway. There is a Burger King across the road (excellent) and a bakery plus a few bars around the corner. The bar in the hostel was empty the whole time I was there, but maybe it was full while I was out. It's a cheap place to drink judging by the specials so fill up and head out. For 5€ you can extend the checkout time from 10am to 1pm which, needless to say, is essential if you're coming back from clubbing at six in the morning!

It's a decent enough place to sleep and base yourself from. It's not in the centre of town, it's fairly basic but for the price it does what it says on the box - gives you a place to sleep and clean up between your travels around town.

Room Tip: Some rooms face the S-Bahn track which can be noisy, but isn't too bad.

I stayed here with three friends. We each got one free drink in the bar when we arrived. We had our own room. The room was clean but the bathroom was very small, especially the shower. There were two beds and bunk beds. One of the beds was broken. Staff seemed friendly enough. It was not far from the trams.

We checked into our tiny room with a sink and a tiny locker. There was no air conditioning, and being the top floor, it was hot.

The bathrooms were like a school toilet block and the walls were paper thin. Not the best location, however was a good price.
I will definately find somewhere closer next time.

Room Tip: Get a lower level room with a curtain

Situated at the Landsberger Allee Generator Hostel is primarily a hostel for very young people. The rooms are spartan with inferior materials. The bunk beds in the dormitories are wobbly, the showers and toilets ok, but not outstanding. Unfortunately in the rooms there was only neon lights and no reading lamps, so that one is awakened at the different arrivals of roommates by the light again and again. A comfortable sleeping through was therefore often not possible.

I think the staff thought they were doing me a favour by giving me an "upgrade" from and 8 bed to a 6 bed, that had no one else in it. but when your traveling by yourself, I'm more the happy to be in an 8 bed dorm with people in it, because it makes it a lot easier to meet people! the hostel is way too big and too clinical. its obviously aimed at big traveling groups such as schools and sports teams. there was no atmosphere and not a lot of room to just chill and meet others. plus every time you get off the internet, you have to re enter a log in and password when you want to get back on. pain in the a**. on top of this the location is not awesome. lets just say i booked 4 nights and after 1 i started looking of other hostels.
