We stayed with our daughter for two nights, and this is a good choice for sightseeing as its a really central location. It's not perfect though, hence four stars not five from us.

Firstly, upon checking in reception see,ed to rurally struggle with us wanting a king bed and rollaway bed for our daughter, despite us calling before we booked to check this would be possible. Secondly, although our rate included breakfast we discovered we had to pay €14 each day for a child breakfast - I don't think I know of a 7 year old that can eat enough to justify that price and there was no mention of this at the time of booking. That said, standard breakfast fare is excellent, with plenty of choice but staff seemed to struggle with items cooked to order- an omelette and a fried egg over easy proved too tricky for them...

The catwalk bar was nice for a cocktail.

Hotel on entering made spacious impression and offers large rooms with a proper bathroom. The breakfast is abundant but rather expensive at €32. The location has its advantage and disadvantage. Close to the Potzdamer Platz with its film theatres and the "Reichstag", but not ideal for ladies wanting to go shopping in the "Kuhdamm" or Friedrichstrasse area.

We stayed four nights in January. Overall, the hotel was excellent. Service was efficient and friendly. Rooms are large, renovated, and comfortable. The room had the normal amenities -- safe, large flat screen TV, large desk area, etc. Everything was new and functional. On the downside, there was no in-room coffee or tea service, so be prepared to head downstairs in the morning for your fix.

The hotel is well located for Berlin. It is steps away from both the U-Bahn and S-Bahn, making it easy to get around the city. The hotel is walking distance to many business and tourist attractions; some are just around the corner, while a 30 minute walk will take you most everywhere. From the airport, a cab takes about 20-30 minutes and costs around 20 euro.

As Marriott Gold, we were not upgraded to larger room, but given lounge access and Internet per normal. Because the actual lounge was under renovation, it was moved temporarily to the back of the restaurant, with breakfast in the restaurant. The breakfast was a buffet with many choices and very high quality.

The gym was nice, though small, with typical equipment. There is a separate elevator to serve the gym area, which made it less awkward to traverse the hotel in gym clothes. As a plus, there is a small sauna (two in fact, with different temperatures).

For a quick meal, there are a couple chain restaurants right next door and a mall nearby. There is also a Starbucks next to the hotel.

I stayed at the Marriott for three nights for a business meeting, that took place in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. Rooms were large, especially compared to a typical European room. Great hotel and I would recommend!
