Look like a friendly place, but it's not.

Very Cheap, but also dirty and unclean, expecially bathrooms.

The "VIP" room, as no tv as they write on the description, no private bathrom, it's shared with another room in an house away from the principal house.

The bathroom of the "VIP" room it's a litte hole with a small washbasing and toilet.

Room Tip: search some other hostel: in Berlin there are better place same price.

The place itself is nothing special: small hostel, simply furnished rooms, shared bathroom, old mattresses...

Nonetheless, if you travel on a budget, it still can be an acceptable option. Personnel is kind (young people from all across the Europe help to create the vibe of modern Berlin), rooms and bathrooms clean, place easily reachable by public transportation, great Turkish fool all around and prices more than ok for a Western European capital.

To sum up: if you're looking for a fancy place, you'll be disappointed but if you want for a cosy little hostel, David's Hostel can be the good choice.

We stayed over for 3 nights, and rented the apartment with ensuite bathroom and double bed. it came with a television and a selection of DVDs and books. The adjoining kitchen could have been useful if there was a microwave, and the cutlery and pans didn't look like they'd been washed. The fridge hadn't been cleaned out from the last visitors and still had a pepsi bottle inside it.
The 'towels' we leased were basically hand towels as they were so small and so utterly used that they were useless! Not worth paying for!
The bedding however looked fresh, and that was good to see, but the room in general was unclean as you could see bits of dirt and paper under the bed or in corners.

The bathroom was unclean as the fittings were so old! I'm sorry, but I do NOT like seeing my own poop in the toilet (it was an old fashioned one!) And having a gaping hole in the wall (where the exhaust fan used to be?) is not assuring.

The apartment was about 3 minutes walk from the main hostel, and so if you wanted wifi you'd have to go back to the common room of the hostel to access it. Decorative to the max with African masks and Buddha statues in the corner and lots of bright colours, the common room wasn't social with hardly any guests (despite it being a week before Christmas!) There was an adjoining kitchenette though to use, with a working microwave and lots of condiments if need be (not recommended as again, looked 'too' used).

Good points: There is a security gate to enter, and then a set of double doors, and then you're in a courtyard for the buildings. The front door of the apartment is again accessed with a key and since it's on ground floor easier to transport your luggage.

Bad points: Location of the hostel isn't convenient if you're wanting to instantly explore the main city as you're really far out! It took approximately an hour to get to the main train station. But if you don't mind, there is a metro nearby to the hostel.
Food wise, it's mainly fast food like kebabs! And there are some markets to buy fresh goods or regular supermarket stuff.

Over all, you get what you pay for really! And for 70 euro for 3 nights, for 2 people with own bathroom and kitchen.. I'm not complaining! Especially since closer hostels/hotels were far more expensive!

Room Tip: Judging from the fact we got the 'best' room, looks like you should opt for the ensuite apartment! Who knows what the shared rooms looked like!

Little hostel, central location and relatively cheap.
But not very clean, and i didnt like the bathroom: 2 showers and 2 toilets in the SAME room. Not great to have the "smell" when you're having a shower...

My stay in david's hostel is one that I will not forget. While the staff were very friendly and helpful and the price was extremely cheap, this was an experience that I hope to never repeat. The main rooms consisted of about 12 matresses placed on the floor with about 30cm space between each. The bed linen was filthy and appeared not to have been washed from the previous guests. Both men and women stayed in the same room which made for an interesting experience at times. My advice is that you get what you pay for in life and paying little to stay in david's hostel will deliver an experience to match that price.
