I thought that because all of the tram lines seem to run through Alexanderplatz that it would be something special or have some good places to eat.
Well, it's just big and uninviting. There may be some good shopping in the department store, but there are not good food options (we ended up taking the tram to another part of the city to eat lunch). We walked around the different side streets connected to the square, but could not find anything close that looked remotely interesting.
