I went to restaurant jolly after seeing the wonderful reviews in trip advisor. I had no booking but there were many tables available and I was seated outside with my family. We decided to order the Peking Duck menu, which included dim sums, Peking duck, duck soup and a fried banana dessert.
The dim sums were nice with 4 different variants. They were presented nicely in a traditional steamer and tasted fresh. The Peking duck was exquisite, what made it all the more special was that our waiter (who was knowledgeable, polite and funny) brought the duck out before he served it to show is that it was a real duck and that it didn't come out of a processed package. The carrot carving he showed us (in the picture) was also a nice touch. The Peking duck was lovely with all the great flavours you would expect.
The duck soup was an unexpected winner. It had a great flavour while not being to watered down or thin. The only food let down was the dessert of fried banana. Of course it's a Chinese restaurant and they don't have a great reputation for desserts, but it was a let down after the amazing previous courses and was not special at all. However for the great duck, great waiter and great location in Berlin (right next to museum island) this restaurant is wonderful Espicially at the relatively cheap price the food is.
