We had our eye on this restaurant for some time as somewhere we would celebrate something. Having had Dim Sum only once in our life (earlier this year) we were really eager to try it in our home town of Berlin. We made a simple online booked for our 3rd Anniversary. Upon arrival we loved the style of the restaurant (except the basic German floors), the red light glaring with the steam steaming by the Dim Sum bar was cool. We sat down at a nice table for 2 and ordered a bunch of stuff: Chicken skewer something, Edamame, Steamed sweet pork buns, Entrecote Spring Rolls. We loved it all. The pork bun was just awesome and the Spring rolls too. Then we ordered the Duck & Pancakes which very well may have been the best duck we'd ever had. So many great flavors and wonderful sauces. We loved every minute and will return again.

I personally love restaurants where you can share food with the guest at the table. At Long March Canteen this is exactly what happens while being able to order dim sums when ever you like more.

The other element which makes the experience special is that the staff actually care and like to help you.

Thanks and hope you can have just such enjoyment.

I recently tried to make a reservation for a Friday evening. And that turned into a struggle. The restaurant continuously insisted that we must have a fixed menu, which is over loaded at the same time for 28 or 38 Euros, which is quite expensive for Berlin standards.
I had also previously heard that price/quality ratio was in a way expensive.
However, insisting on a menu which is sooo much food, and on the other hand giving only two hours time for reservation, that is you have to go at 19:00 and leave at 21:00, was ridicolous. We are eating out to enjoy our time with our friends, and enjoy the food.
As the name implies, they really act like a canteen, but price expensive.
On the other hand, they should really improve how to communicate through e-mail or phone, politely.

Went there for the first time and really loved it. Dumplings, Dim Sum combined with porkbelly and mint or a delicious Octopus salad - there is something for everyone and they really serve it well. Ambiance is great as the lights have turned low and you get the asian street kitchen feeling. Can be loud and packed, but nice staff and reservation would help as it is widely hyped these days;-) If you are a party of 5, ask for a separate table so no need to sit squeezed in on the long tables. Next time when I'll be in Berlin, I will for sure go again!!

Our evening didn't start well. We had booked a table for 20 last Friday night as part of my best friend's birthday weekend. We pre-ordered the deluxe set menu. Unfortunately, 7 of us went to the wrong address (there is another Wrangelstrasse on the other side of town) and ended up being 45 minutes late! In spite of this, the staff were great, and although they had to start sending the food out before all of us arrived, it kept on coming, course after course, for an hour after we got there.

Octopus with Kohlrabi and Bok Choy salad were both mouth watering dishes to start with, but the various steamed dumplings we were served were the stars of the show, and undoubtedly some of the best I've ever tasted. By far my favourite were the green steamed dumplings with beef and vegetables, closely followed by the pork and ginger.

I also loved the big, dark dining room with its sparse neon lighting, chunky wooden tables and laid back atmosphere. My only complaint would be that because the dumplings were so large, they fell apart quite easily, but that's a small quibble in what was otherwise a satisfying meal. So satisfying, I all but forgot about the stressful start to the evening!
