For our last night in Berlin we wanted something German, local and highly rated. The Schlossgarten appeared to fit the bill, and it did. We were welcomed as soon as we entered and were seated at a window table. The menu was in english and gave a good choice of classic dishes with some interesting variations. I had the roast pork knuckle with bread dumplings and sauerkraut, herself had beef with horseradish and beetroot. Both were absolutely excellent. We washed the food down with a very nice German red wine recommended by the waiter. Price is fair and the service impeccable. Highly recommended.

We wanted a typical German lunch. Not expensive, not corny but good wholesome German fare and this is what we had. The waitress was friendly, the service prompt and the bratwurst, sauerkraut and potatoes washed down with a good beer hit the spot. The other guests included a large party of students: noisy but well behaved and enjoying themselves; another group were tutors from their school who also relaxed and joined in the banter. For twenty euros you can't complain!

This is a lovely little resturant. Our waiter was so helpful and friendly and the food was a unique take on the regular 'tourist' German food which made it that much more special. A hearty menu with a lot of wild boar and venison specalities, which were delicious and very good value.

Its a fair treck out of town but if you're visiting the Charloettenburg area and need some lunch or supper, do yourself a favour and go here!!

We recently visited Berlin and visited the Restaurant Schlossgarten by pure chance, as my wife lived above the then pub over forty years ago. What a find! The menu had venison which was beautifully cooked and served. The owner was attentive without being fussy. The value for money was excellent.

It is restaurants like this that make travelling really worth while.

We had two different soups, mushroom and with meatballs, and a fried trout, and everything was excellent, and for a good price. The service was also very good. Will definitively come back there.
