The place is pretty small (not easy to find) and crowded. You just sit and choose your favorite Ramen among a list of 6 (unfortunately menu only in German). We choose 2 dishes randomly and they were both very good! Just lucky? Well... looking at the faces of the other people, it seems everything you choose here is excellent. So I suggest to try...
If you are looking for more japanese stuff, just enter in the next door. It is the same owner!

There is nothing like a good tonkotsu ramen, and a good tonkotsu ramen is not so easy to come by -- and thus, Cocolo is surely a gem in Berlin.

One of my favorite things to eat is Tonkotsu ("pork bone") Ramen, a intensely rich soup that brings together wonderful ingredients: seaweed, noodles, pork, mushrooms, etc. I am happy that Cocolo in Berlin serves an excellent version of this addictive culinary treat.
The restaurant is small and usually very busy. There is a little garden part in the back, shared by the sushi restaurant Kuchi (quite good). The small menu offers some good appetizers (dumplings) and other styles of soup (miso) but when fine tonkotsu is available, why bother with the rest? A tasty selection of drinks completes the menu well (sake, non-alcoholic drinks, teas). Service is efficient.

This small and cosy gem of a place is hidden in one of the side streets of Hackescher Markt in centre of Berlin. We found it by accident 3 years ago when we used to live at the other end of the street and noticed that it was always full and sometimes people were waiting outside to get a seat.
They offer only 6 ramen on the menu, and over time we have sampled all of them, and regardless of which one you go for and when, you'll be delighted with the portion, taste and price.
For starters, I'd also suggest the wonderful gyoza with a cup of hot rice tea. Simply gorgeous.
