“Good way to spend a few hours in Berlin.”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Visited here with my partner (who is a big football fan and likes to visit stadiums) whilst in Berlin for a few days.
As a non football stadium visiting fan, I would say it's still well worth a visit as there's a lot more to this place than just football. There's a lot of history at this stadium which is really pretty interesting.
The actual stadium itself is very impressive and there feels a good atmosphere.... I imagine seeing a match here would be amazing!
The entry fee was really cheap (€8 I think) and it was very easy to get here using the U bahn.

“History!”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

I have been to stadiums in different country but this one has a different feel to it. This place is not just about sports but about the histroy that it has. The museum is well worth a visit: I also took a walk around the stadium, I would say I loved. i won't recommend if one is in Berlin for 273 days but go for it if you r here for more than 4 days!

“Great atmosphere, great match, just as long as you weren't a Hertha fan ;)”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

The whole match day operation was very smooth with willing and helpful staff able to explain well in English what to do.

The fans were incredible and the view of the pitch excellent. Cheaper than most Premiership and Championship matches make it value for money.

Just a shame Hertha Berlin got humped 3-0...

“Visiting history”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

1936 Olympic games held at the stadium where Hitler ordered a construction of a new stadium, one that included a special stand for himself. The stadium now is currently the home for one of the soccer teams. The Olympic bell is also there and you are able to see the Maifield. It is the open air closed off stadium behind the olympic stadium. During the Nazi era it was used for mass rallies. Lots of history and statues that were built for the Olympics and also don't miss the several monuments dedicated to pass Olympics. enourmous and beautiful stadium.

“Soccer at the Stadium”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

We attended a Herta team soccer game at the Olympic Stadium. Getting there by subway was easy and the walk to the Stadium site was well marked. It was obvious that many of the local attendees were already in soccer-mode from the singing and drinking at the roadside canteens along the parking lot area. Stood in line at Will Call a good 30 - 45 minutes after the posted opening time waiting for it to open to collect our tickets but the process was a smooth and quick one after the booths opened. Felt like being at the airport again for the body search security check but the Security guards were pleasant and respectful. If you plan to eat or drink at any of the Stadium on-site kiosks be aware that you must pay by first getting a Stadium Paycard from one of the many Paycard attendants on the grounds. Once inside the actual Stadium it was a real thrill to be in the same venue where Jesse Owens and other like athletes competed in the 1930s. The hometown faithful fans were entertainment in their own right -- just watching the Herta fans consolidated in the 2 most eastern sections of the Stadium was tiring. These fans jumped in unison, sang their club songs in unison and stayed that way through out the entire match. A gorgeous and historic venue to be shared with the world.
