Not many places allow you to experience the present and the past in one go but the Olympic Stadium does it with ease. The new Olympic facilities and football stadium are fantastic, with the underground track and practice areas there is no other stadium like it as far as I know. Then you get the past....right back to Hitler and the Third Reich. Many memories for all, some good, some bad. Personally I found the visit more than worth it. Make sure you take the guided tour and dont do it on your own, you will learn much more.

Great place to visit again with the rest of Germany lots of history here.
But also has been used more recently for athletics championships, womens world cup and many more competitions. Very good tour. Well priced too and in English. Is definately a must do on your visit to Berlin

What a fantastic tour. The stadium and its surroundings have so much history that you need a good day there to embrace it all. It does not matter whether you are interested in sport or not this is definately a place not to be missed

“Don't miss the Bell Tower!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

The Olympic Stadium is a great place to visit--besides being a current athletic venue, there is lots of history here. As others have mentioned, if you want to visit the stadium itself, check ahead to make sure it's open for visits--I believe that it's usually closed on game days and the day after.

But the Olympic Bell Tower is definitely worth a visit. It has some very interesting exhibits on the lower floors and a fantastic view from above.

“Lots of history.”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

It's a good place to visit if you have a few days in the city. We went on a normal day with nothing going on but there's still a lot to see. I'd definately recommend getting the audio guide for the full experience.
