The whole museum seemed unorganized to me. A lot of interesting things to see, but not presented too well. We didn't have the audiophones either, because they were not included.
The stories told here are truly fascinating but it's an insane amount of reading. Also it's very poorly laid out. Some pieces have 4 languages, some have 6. There's no consistency as to whether English is listed 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Sometimes the languages are colour coded, sometimes they're not.
It's very disappointing that it's not more user friendly as the stories of escape are captivating.
You've perhaps read it in History. But, nothing like being in person! Too much to read, but a walk through the lanes and the photographs are good enough to take you back to the morbid era.
If you are a History buff, then tons to read. you can spend a whole day. You can visit the Wall in two different areas, be sure which one you want to go to.
We all know the history but nothing really prepares you when walking through the streets here... The wall, checkpoint Charlie, the soulless car park (quite fitting) that was hitters bunker.... Pretty incredible stuff
A marvelous exposure of wartime & the postwar horrors of the Russian influence on East/West Berlin All young people should be aware of this history & see the pictorial & wall panels relating to this period of horrid life in the City.
