“Good stories, not a great experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2014

It was very interesting to see all the stories of people that tried to cross the west side and the outcome of their attempts, which makes it worthwhile. Having said that, the museum was very small and that is not a good thing when they have so many visitors, including large groups and not a lot of places to sit.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

Although it is interesting to see some of the methods of escape from East Berlin during the Berlin Wall era, there really isn't anything particularly insightful or unique on display. The museum has a crowded feeling, but that's mostly because of large placards with text in several languages. There are several videos as well as some very startling art work. However, overall I found the museum overpriced for what it contains.

“All you need to know about the wall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2014

The museum is bigger than it first seems and gives an excellent insight into the history of the wall. It is also open till quite late.

“Tourist trap”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2014

There are a lot of good museums in Berlin that are either free to visit or charge a small amount.
This is not one of them.
First of all, there is an enormous amount of text plastered over the walls and it's just impossible to read it all, particularly when it's busy.
Then, there seems to be very little organization / structure within the museum.
It was not a very inspiring experience.
Also, there is a charge for the toilets within the museum after just having paid 12,50 entrance fee!
I would recommend to just view Checkpoint Charlie and The Berlin Wall Memorial at the Bernauer Straße.
