Owner description: Collection focusing on the Bauhaus, the famous school of architecture and design. The building which houses the collection was drafted by Walter Gropius, founder of the school.

This would be a must see for architects, designers, artists... anyone with an appreciation for this school of design will find it absolutely fascinating. The building is gorgeous, and you can really delve deeply into the history of this design school, if you so choose. The gift shop has got some of the nicest stuff on the continent!

Without question one of the best places to go in Berlin for gifts to bring home--a wide range of prices, items for kids, adults, home...

But if you have any design background I think you'll find the museum a bit disappointing. If you can't get out to Dessau and you need a Bauhaus fix then make sure you'll be using a Berlin Museum Pass (SO worth it if you're curious about some of the amazing museums in Berlin--and the pass will allow you to skip the long lines), otherwise the 24 Euro will feel like a waste. The Archiv has an incredibly small collection and it's very poorly curated. There are some interesting sections to the audio tour but overall there's just not much there as most of the building is for students and not the general public.

Berlin has many great things to see and do, Sadly this Museum is not one of them, Very tired looking museum, Grumpy attendants. They have an audio guide which you may use but too be perfectly honest after the first 5 minutes you'll probably hand it back in and leave, Whatever you do DO NOT take young children.

I've seen more interesting stuff at my local Library!!!

Bitterly disappointing.

Great experience. I didn't know anything about the Bauhaus movement before I went to this museum, just saw the Itten-Klee exhibition; first of all I was seduced by the works displayed, then I really was interested by the explanations and by the building itself. Well, it was a great moment while I was in Berlin. Everyone's got to see this.

A fair walk from Nollendorfstrasse underground - we made a particular effort to visit this attraction. This is the museum I was so looking forward to on my holiday, and I was sorely disappointed as I dragged my poor sister along telling her how fab it was going to be. The museum is tiny - just one room. Although I appreciated the concept, I did feel as though it was a waste of effort to visit. No photos are allowed - what you will see are a few chairs, some photos, miniature architectural models (which are fab), some lamps and a weaving loom. 10 Euros entrance fee is way too steep compared to what you pay at other more worthwhile museums. You have to check your bags in the locker room, which is not a bad thing as it saves having to carry them around. The only bonus is that when we exited the museum, there was a 25k run going past!
