This hotel sits, somewhat inconspicuously, on Warnemünder Straße, a peaceful street lined with trees and stately old villas, in Berlin-Schmargendorf. Quick and convenient subway, bus and elevated railway connections to the heart of Berlin are nearby, but you'll want to spend some time in the neighborhood of the hotel too. A 5-minute walk takes you to the Rathaus Schmargendorf and numerous shops and restaurants on Breite Str. and Berkaer Str. Or walk down any of the streets leading off of the nearby Platz am Wilden Eber (Place of the Wild Boar), where cozy, inviting Kneipen (taverns) coexist harmoniously with residential neighborhoods.
The accomodations are comfortable (my wife and I stayed in a double room with kitchen and bath) and tastefully decorated. We had planned to make our own breakfasts (why have a kitchen otherwise?), but the fantastic breakfasts served in the hotel's pleasant, bright little dining room were just too tempting.
The staff was as friendly and helpful as we have encountered anywhere on our travels in Europe and North America.
