We checked into the hostel on the 12th of June and found the reception staff to be very friendly. The prices we paid were completely justified by the cleanliness and the ample sizes of the room.
A kitchen with two refrigerators, 4 cooking plates and lots of cutlery and pans, pots etc was available for free use. The hallways were bright and nicely decorated and so were the rooms. For a hostel providing cheap accommodation, this was the type that would be on the higher end. The reception was 24x7 with no curfew and every incomer had to show a pass on the camera in order for the door to open which proved to be a good security measure. The rooms had security boxes which could be used against a deposit and so were the extra key cards.
However there were some things that I found missing/unpleasant.
The bathroom/toilet for men was common which gave birth to stink in the entire complex as there were no exhaust fans. The water in the taps and the shower was most of the time warm/hot which was unacceptable provided the German temperatures in June. There was no availability of drinking water (except paid) and one had to fill the bottles from the sink which spat out boiling water at times. The bathrooms were cleaned every morning but due to constant use, they became dirty after a short period of time and could be cleaned at least twice a day.
There could have been more mirrors as the only ones present were in the bathroom.
All in all I found the experience to be satisfying.

Room Tip: Dorms are easier on pocket.

So I read this place was a good bet in the Berlin Hostel scene. What I should have read were the mixed or negative reviews. On the surface this place is clean and atmospheric, but under the surface it's cold and over rated.

First off charging 6.50 € for a glorified continental breakfast is outrageous ! No eggs and no real Muesli at a European Hostel for that price is over the top. Second of all the beds are squeaky and the doors slam loudly so sleep is barely an option what with drunks coming in at all hours. Lastly the spotty wifi was either A) always going off and on making booking another Hostel impossible ... Hmmmmmm I see ;-) or B) super slow when it did work continuously for more than ten minutes !

Yes the place was super clean as you'd expect in Germany, but the staff seemed not so into their jobs except for a few of them who appeared to be having fun. Overall a 3 out of 5 stars ... I must be feeling generous ;-)

Room Tip: Don't choose the Dungeon

Very cool wall art in a very decent hostel. Clean, spacious. But it desperately needs more mirrors about and paper towels in the bathroom. We had an exceptionally unhelpful/impolite receptionist on the friday night but all the other staff were lovely and helpful!

This hostel is exactly what one may expect when paying 6,50 for a bed in a dorm.
There's all what you need, bed sheets are clean and toilets are ok (the shower too). Wi-Fi connection works perfectly, but remember that username and password change every 24h.
If you remember to lock your stuff and to keep the window open in the room you won't have any problem at all.
The only disappointing thing: they didn't have bikes at the moment I was staying, so I had to pick it up from Baxpax Downtown, not far from this one.
Enjoy Berlin!

Liked:
- Reception was nice and accommodating
- Has a nice kitchen with all utensils needed
- Close to public transport
- Has a board notifying everyday what the weather is like, Cinemas that play english movies, tips for going out, etc.
- Play good music in the common room (The Doors, Arctic Monkeys, chill music but the playlists change and sometimes it's Katy Perry...haha)
- Has a bar where you can order coffee for 1.9EUR and it's very good coffee, then they have their own happy hour with alcoholic drinks
- The room was lovely. Every room is set up with different themes. We're in the "Indian Room" beautiful artwork and looks clean. There's many lockers which you can use a personal lock on which is very big and fits a lot in it.
- Each bunk bed has a little light that you can use at night so others don't wake up.
- Key card is very easy to use.

Disliked:
- Whenever someone opened the door at night and kept it open you can hear the music from the common room.
- When relaxing in the common room the music can be quite loud if a club music playlist is playing.
- When we went to bed for 2 nights there's a Salsa class on the floor above us and they like their music LOUD so basically couldn't sleep until 4am those 2 nights from the intense music and clip clopping upstairs.

This is a very nice place and worth the money considering how cheap it is. You can meet some cool people, there's a tonne of brochures for tours i recommend the Sandeman's tours. Reception is very nice, there's a tonne of books to read and a computer for internet if anyone doesn't have a phone/laptop. Bathrooms are clean and tidy, have had no real problems so far! Been the best Hostel this far into our trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Indian Room", room 207 i think. It was lovely. The walls are very beauti...

I love this hostel location very close to the Ubahn Train Station. U really don't need to worry about catching up on your flight( that is if you've got one!)
Great value for money. The cleanliness is moderate. Can really be a great experience especially if you have not got some snoring jerks in your room.RECOMMENDED!

I chose this hostel mainly because it was so much cheaper than all the other ones we looked at, and it sounded nice.
From the outside it looks awful, but when you get into the hostel itself it's much better. The reception, bathrooms and common areas could be cleaner, but the rooms are fantastic. We got an "Arabic" themed room; good beds and HUGE pillows. However, there was only one light in the room, and the light fixture blocked most of the light coming off the light bulb. So it was always very dark in the room, even if the light was on.

The best thing about this hostel is the staff. The staff was wonderful, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.

It was very noisy at night though, being in the same building as a dance club. There was LOUD music at the club in the middle of the night, could use some soundproofing. But overall, we really enjoyed the stay.
