Hotel Sylter Hof
Ranked #116 of 634 Hotels in Berlin
Certificate of Excellence

Given that the hotel is ranked 3* and the very reasonable price, this hotel is clearly an overachiever. The overall quality is impressive: the furniture, bathrooms and common area seem brand new. The staff if friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast is complete, of very high quality and has plenty of diversity.

There is a free printer (along with two computers) in the "business room", which is also often convenient. Last but not least, the hotel has bikes for renting at a very reasonable rate. I rented one of these bikes for reaching the place of my meeting, and I used it later the day in order to visit some iconic nearby places (weight "near" relative to the bike: 2.5 Km to the Brandeburg gates, and about 7km more to reach the main remains of the old Berlin wall (at Muenchenstrasse), visiting in the midway the Berlin Reichstag, the Berliner Dom and many other impressive monuments.

I got an "economy single room". The room was indeed quite small, but all the details were clearly stated at booking time. Given the shortage of space an original solution was envisaged for the wardrobe, but it is clearly not enough for a longer stay.

One reference to the Internet. l find strange that some hotels insist on requiring a fee for Internet access. At least, in this case, I found the price reasonable (about 5 Eur / 24H) and not too expensive as it often happens.

Within 100m from the Hotel there are plenty of good restaurants, which are a good solution if you don't intend to travel a lot for an evening meal.

Very nice hotel and staff. Nice, simple decoration.
Very close to KDW department stores. Not a lot of attractions nearby, but you can get the 100 bus or the U-bahn and get everywhere.
Some noise from the alee in front of the hotel. You can check other nearby hotels in vertical streets, if this is a problem for you.
Note: there were no closets in the room!. You hang your clothes in a steel bar, for everyone to see!

I stated here for 3 nights in a 1 bed suite. This had bedroom, bathroom, large living room with dining area and a kitchen (no utensils). Very spacious accommodation.
Air conditioning in bedroom, but leave the door open and it cools the entire suite.

Hotel staff were very helpful and good with advice, English was no problem.

Location great for the park, zoo and shopping area & most other sights are accessible on the 100 bus which runs from outside the hotel (just buy a day ticket).

I will definitely stay here again next year.

For £52.00 per night this place is an absolute bargin. The suite is large enough to hold a large double bedroom, a large lounge, a large entrance room to store all the gear and a perfect sized kitchen (with fridge and cooker). The only down side is that there was no kettle and no pots and pans, cutlery, etc - shame but so long as you know you would bring them!

U-barn is 10 mins walk and sits on the Potsdamer / Alexander Platz route. The zoo is a 15 min walk from the hotel. There are loads of restaurants nearby.

Would stay here again at this price!

Room Tip: The suites have a fully fitted kitchen (fridge, cooker, cupboards) but absolute nothing else it them...

Hotel has great location. You can walk to many tourist attractions. Room was clean and roomy. Staff were polite and tried to help us. Breakfast was also good. I was going to run a marathon and I got lot of energy from breakfast. It was pretty easy to go to Berlin marathon from hotel. I'll come back to this hotel.

We chose this hotel for the excellent location, and we were surprised of the quality of service ( very warm, friendly and professional ) the rooms were super luminous, clean, stylish and big! We also made use of the bus 100 which stops just at the door and goes through all the touristic places in Berlin! Just download an offline guide, pay the day-ticket and enjoy the day from the door of the hotel to every magnific place! You can read in the bus stop as well, that the building is located where an important organism was located during war. So you feel history very close! I highly recommend it.
