“Great Hotel - Good price/quality”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

I stayed there for 13 days as part of a business trip and i am happy that i did...

Positive:
Location is great, center of Alexanderplatz and easily accessible from anywhere in Berlin...a lot of things and activities happen in Alexanderplatz so its great to be there...Easily accessible from airport just at the doorstep of the bus stops and metro...
Cleanliness: The room cleaning is amazing, and the room was always perfectly clean no matter how i left it...(once i had my cloth scattered because i had to leave in a hurry)
Restaurant is excellent and plays live piano music (Chris was playing and he's an amazing person as well), an amazing way to relax after a tiring day, and the food and drinks are great...
Several aneminities to enjoy...
Concierge Service: 11/10 for that, and they are very helpful, very friendly, and will help you with anything in Berlin, i would really like to thank Stefan in particular...
Reception: they do a huge effort seeing the size of the hotel and the large amount of guests moving in and out...thumbs up to that
Room Service: is good and they get you what you need...i was just annoyed once when asked 3 questions about why i needed an extra long glass when i have one in my room...i just needed it...

Could use some improvement:
Internet: really expensive at 6.5Euros the hour, and tethering from cell phone not easy in Germany...and not allowed by most providers....
TV Channels: i was there for work and could really used some channels...i am surprised how little they were and nothing important...even the pay as you go channels are nothing important...
Bathroom: could use a small see through blocker on the glass...

Even though i had the small room, but i never spend a lot of time in the hotel, so it was fine for me and the sleep quality is nice and i was never annoyed by anything...

Overall i would stay there again the price/quality ratio is one of the best for me...

We were very lucky with our room, overlooking Alexanderplatz on the 25th floor. If you can, definitely ask for the room facing out across the city as opposed to East Berlin. Great customer service, helped us a lot with tourist activities etc. Was completely startled with how overpriced food was however. It was about 25 Euro for a buffet breakfast however there really wasn't much available other than toast and juice. Really terrible. Buy your own food. Room was spotless, and had all amenities you could possibly want. We had a great stay.

We stayed in a junior suite on the 34th floor. The view was stunning both day and night. There were four of us and we had plenty of room to get in and out of our luggage. The closets were large. We appreciated the WC was separate from the shower area with an extra sink; with four women this really helped to get us ready quicker. The furnishings were modern and the room was very clean. The staff was professional and friendly. The location can't be beat. You can walk to so many attractions from the hotel and the hop on hop off bus stops right outside the hotel. The train station and metro are also just outside of the hotel's location. The Cons; Charging 18 Euros a day to use WiFi was crazy considering the rate for the room was alreday high, And charging hotel guests to use toilets in the lobby level is just not right. Over all we were very satisfied with the Park Inn and would return again!

Room Tip: The higher up you stay the better the views,

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a group. The hotel is in a really good location for visiting all the sites and a couple of minutes from the train station. The room was fairly small with hardly any space for 2 suitcases and the pillows were not very good and very flat.. The bathroom was the big let down with only a shower curtain for modesty right next to the bed. Why do hotels try to be so quirky? We have been married for over 40 years but did not like the bathroom arrangement at all. Don't think the cleaner cleaned the toilet the whole time we were there - very stained.
We had a buffet evening meal on arrival with our group and it was excellent as was the buffet breakfast. Could not fault the food at all.
Did not like that we had to pay to use the toilet in the foyer area or that there was a charge to use the roof terrace - decided not to bother going up to see it. Also WIFI is very exepensive. Some of the staff at reception did not have a very good attitude.
Do not think I would stay here again if I visited Berlin despite its good location.

Even though I am used to higher standards when traveling solo, I did not have too great expectations for this hotel, both based on its brand and due to the fact that dozens of my colleagues were also staying at the hotel.
This Park Inn is a barebones Radisson, so much so that they may want to hide that they own it. While Radisson brand hotels give some thought to design, this one was more deluxe prison cell than nice hotel room. Given its history as a foreigner hotel for guests of the GDR (at least the elevators were installed in 1969), much of this makes sense. From the remnants of bad design to the room doors opened by a swipe card reader from ca. 1980, the normal rooms are very small and woe be unto those who fancy photographing the view. Not here, someone might mind.
And don't rely on getting room service. Not only does it stop at 10pm at the latest but I also received no answer when I wanted some. Thank goodness for pizza delivery companies.
Regarding wifi, yes, it may not be free, but in this case at least you get what you pay for, quality wifi for EUR 18 / 24 hours.
I'm glad I was there on business as the room was at least conducive to hard work elsewhere in town.

Room Tip: Go for the more expensive rooms, it's probably well worth it!

Only one night but very positive. Nice staff, helpful and welcoming.

Great location on Alexanderplatz with the U-Bahn and S-bahn on the door step. The bus to Tegel Airport also picks up and drops off more or less outside too.

Breakfast was great and plentiful which is impressive as this is a huge hotel with a lot of guests eating at the same time.

The room was spotless and genuinely non-smoking and also very quiet.

One hour of free net could be improved upon although the staff will print your boarding pass out for you and check you in for free.

I would stay here again - good value in a fantastic city.

Room Tip: Get a high floor if you can, views are (probably) great.

I visited this hotel with a group in june 2013.
The hotel is located in the center of Berlin,
The rooms were clean but rather small: impossible to open two pieces of luggage.
Dinner (buffet) was good and breakfast offered a large choice.
I strongly regretted that no free wifi, nor free internet were available. ..
