“Perfect location, comfortable, but two things bizarre”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Yes, the location is great, right at Alexanderplatz, metro right outside the door, airport 20 min (a bit more than 20€ by taxi), and you never get lost in Berlin, just follow the huge TV tower and the hotel is right there. Rooms are nice and confortable, the hotel is a bit too big for my taste but has nice bars and restaurant, the view is nice (the higher the better, of course), and you can even do some bungee-jumping from the top floor (didn't try it, do you think I'm suicidal?). Nice restaurants just around the corner (Spanish, Italian, whatever). So, what could be negative? Two things. First, wifi is awfully expensive and not that good (18€ for 24h and the connection went down a few times), and I'm a bit particular about paying for wifi in expensive hotels, I think it should be included. Strangely, cheaper ones more often provide it for free. Second, the bathroom. It has all you need, but it is directly inside the room. I've been to many hotels that follow the current trend of glass walls in the shower and so, but here you actually pass through the bathroom to get to the actual room. Both the lavatory and shower have glass partitions, and so does the toilet (in this case not transparent...), so you have to be in really intimate terms with the person you would be sharing the room with. I prefer a little more privacy. Still, it may be me. The staff was nice and particularly friendly for a big hotel.

Room Tip: If you aren't afraid of heights, the higher the better view.

The hotel is perfectly located on the Alexanderplatz which is well-communicated with the rest of the city by S- and U-Bahn. The rooms are very clean, cosy, and sound-proof. The staff is very kind and helpful and the hotel itself offers a comfortable stay in one of the Europe's most vibrant capitals.

The only disadvantage is the bathroom which is in the room. There's no room separated with doors from the rest of the suite. Only the toilette has separate space, however, the door is very poor which makes it embarrassing to relief your biological needs.

Room Tip: The higher the better!

There have been many varied comments about this hotel. I read the before choosing it. It is quite a nice hotel, and about 30 stories. You can see it from all of the adjacent area, which was the former East Berlin. There is NOTHING East Berlin about the area now, except for some open lots where giant cranes build new buildings each year. Very safe now. Alexanderplatz is the hotels front door. Train station which will get you anywhere right there, several giant department stores now on the Platz. I got a paid upgrade to a corner room on floor 20 And had panoramic views of Berlin looking west. Ask for a room facing City Hall/train station for the better views. Really nice newly furnished room. Don't worry about the glass bathroom wall mentioned in Tripadvisor. There is a thick curtain that you draw around the sink and tub that cuts the view from the room. The toilet has a door on it as a water closet. I also ate in the restaurant, all Buffett, each night as a was solo and exhausted. The best hotel food I have ever had. Also, being a bit further than the center of tourist Berlin the price is Really good for what you get. But, if you can walk really far, all sites are walk able at least one way (take a cab back), except the true old west Berlin center (potsplatz??) which has all the fancy shops, restaurants, Sony Center, etc. if you like New York stay in this area. If you want to know your in Europe stay at the Park Inn.
D new buildings each year.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor looking west.

This hotel is about 20 mins from Tegel airport and is door to door for 2euros.
The check in service was swift and we were in our room in 5 mins.
The room was substantial with a very comfortable bed and the usual mod cons.
Weird shower set up if you are not with your partner as the glass cubicle is part of the bedroom and not very private.
The Park Inn is not far from anywhere in Berlin slap bang by their slick rail service so travelling around is fast, quick and cheap.
Breakfast is continental with a sprawling selection of breads, fruits, meats, cheeses and accompaniments, more than adequate for all palates.
This is not a boutique hotel but it is visible from most of the city and therefore difficult to get lost.
A good venue in a good area for bars and restaurants and a good price, highly recommended and would not think twice about staying here again.

To start on a positive note, we stayed here mid February and got a very reasonable rate for b&b.

Firstly, location is excellent, super convenient for transport links and getting around the city. Service at concierge is efficient. Our room was modern and had a lovely view over Alexanderplatz, however it did not have 4* facilities; it lacked the very basics such as tea and coffee and only had soap and shampoo. The temperature in the room was too hot, we even adjusted the temperature dial to the coldest setting and opened the window but this did not make a difference even though it was freezing outside.

The cleaning staff will knock early on your door so if you do not want your door abruptly opened then use the 'do not disturb' sign.

As commented on in other reviews, the openess of the shower and toilet isn't to my liking but luckily there is a curtain that you can pull around both cubicles.

Breakfast is the best asset of this hotel. There is a vast selection to choose from but it can be tricky to get a table as it is such a busy hotel.

The main problem with this hotel is the staff in Spagos lounge. For such an expensive bar and restaurant the staff are cold and frankly do not seem like they want to serve you food and drink at all. At first I didn't realise it was table service and a bar lady walked past me several times standing at the bar before she told me to sit down. Drinks were not served with a smile whatsoever. One other time, we asked to see the restaurant food menu and another waitress more or less scolded us for not sitting in a convenient area for food and gave us the menu with a look of distaste. Furthermore when I was about to ask her to take our order (after 10 minutes of waiting for her to come back) she waved her hand at us to signal not now, that she was busy. Needless to say I didn't order food after all.

This hotel has lots of potential and I am very much a fan of the Radisson group but I would not recommend this hotel to my friends or family.

Tall and impressive building right @ Alexander platz. This square has lots of restaurants and shops (Galeria, Saturn and a huge shopping mall Alexa near the Media market. We enjoyed 2 restaurants, 'Yam yam', a Korean restaurant, and 'Zur letzen instanz (seit 1621)' very much. We were lucky and did not make reservations, but in fact it is better to reserve upfront.
Park Inn is also close to the Television tower, so it is surely a central spot.
Bedrooms from the Park Inn are small, but they will do. Ask for a room at the higher floors. Breakfast is expensive (?19 pp), while there are lots of breakast opportunities around the hotel. You don't have coffee or tea in the room. Bathroom and toilet do not offer much privacy, so these rooms are better for couples. The bathroom leaks water under the door, which might confront you with wet socks. Rooms are clean and service is good. The reception counter can be quite busy at rush hours. Price is ok for this 4-star hotel.

The hotel as other reviews state looks down over the square. The rooms are nice, reasonable size (for 2) beds were very comfortable and the room cleaned every day of out visit.
Yes the shower is surrounded by clear glass but this really isnt an issue. The shower itself is fantastic !!
We had breakfast paid as part of our room rate - to be honest it wasnt really up to much. There are many small cafes etc in the area so would suggest going elsewhere.

Staff were very helpful no issues at all

Transport links to the rest of the city are superb from here

All in all a great city break in a reasonable hotel
