Saw some of the major attractions and yea there is tipping at the end but there is obligation. So you know you are getting their best or they won't get paid.

Interesting and insightful, the free Berlin tour is a must for the city visitors. Our guide Sam was knowledgeable and extremely friendly.

I was very sceptical about going on a touristy free tour at first as I've always considered it a really tacky thing to do; but I was with a group of friends, who were adamant to go on the tour, so had no say in the matter. However, after a few minutes with our tour guide, the very knowledgeable and likeable Rob McCracken, I was already enjoying myself.

Like most people in their late twenties/early thirties, I knew roughly about the history of Berlin, but our tour guide effortlessly explains the complex and troubled history of the city with many well-told anecdotes (and many funny stories), which is definitely something you have to know about to fully experience Berlin. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting the city.

Normally i don't really like such a guided tours, cause the guide is stressing out if the people can't follow that fast (in walk) or because they are boring. But Rob (McCracken) really impressed me! It was informativ, fun, interesting and the way he told the last story, i felt like a kid again, listening to my parents fairytale with huge eyes. With the last story (when and how the wall came off) he really won my whole intention.
The tour was organised for the members of a Summer Academy from the KHSB with loats of international students. Eventhough the people came from all over the world (from Hungary to Jordan), they could follow every stories and really enjoyed it!

Thanks Rob and wish you all the bests ;-)

Four of us had an excelent and interesting "Arm aber Sexy" (poor but sexy) tour lead by Christian, a native Eastgerman. This meant that he could relate to the time before the reunion of the two Germanies. We chose to have the tour in English and saw many places we would not have found on our own.
It is a very good idea to see Berlin and sourrounding areas by bike (we took our own bikes along). The city center is mostly for experienced bicylists - due to the traffic. But there are many signed routes e.g. to Potsdam, where you are lead on paths and less trafficed roads.
