Called in here a couple of times during our trip to Berlin, relaxed atmosphere and a great place to have a "nightcap". Service is good and the welcome was much appreciated when the host sorted a table out for us when the bar appeared full. This action ensured we would return again.
My wife and friends shared a large plate of salad and bread one evening and all said they enjoyed a good value stomach filler. Well recommended place.

We were in Berlin for 3 days just before Easter 2013. On our last day we stumbled upon this small lovely café/bar. The Christmas tree was still up & decorated just at the door & the place was filled with posters on the walls from different galleries. The menu was plain & simple & very affordable. The beer was great & the waiter very kind to keep them coming!! ;-) You must visit if You are in Berlin-the prizes are so fair & the atmosphere cosy & relaxed. I hope to return one day.

Nice little pub on Savignyplatz. Staff friendly & lots of locals in there. I got the feeling we unwittingly sat in a local's seat but no one asked us to move and there was no awkward feeling. I'd heard about this place beforehand, which is famous because of the resident cat, Zappa & he was sat in the window, as expected. I would recommend going in here for a quick relaxing drink.

Met up with some friends at the Zwiebelfisch pub on the north west corner of Savignyplatz. As it was February wasn`t able to enjoy the open windows looking onto the gardens. A friendly welcone, English spoken and resoanble prices for beer and drinks. This a local with a good reputation with the inhabitants, very relaxed and attracts a good mix of clientele including the Literary set adn in general very unpretentious. They do serve good basic food, but didn`t sample it. Again the menu looked interesting for local fare from hearty soup to more and pricing was sensible. Staff very happy if you only want to drink coffee.

All in all a good place to spend and afternoon, evening or both. Recommended when in this part of West Berlin with the S-Bahn stop within 5 minutes walk.

Local bar with great atmosphere- we got such a warm welcome on the first night that we returned the next few nights for the friendly chat, the late opening hours, the music and Zappa the cat lazing in the window witout a care in the world. I can't think of many bars in London where they greet you warmly and remember your favourite tipple on the second visit
This will be our first stop next time we return to Berlin - next time we'll eat, as the food, served late into the night, had that great smell of home cooking !
