This hotel is very well presented. The greeting from the reception staff was immediate and I was welcomed at the priority desk so I didn't have to wait in line. Check in was efficient and I was directed politely to my room. The room on the 7th floor was beautifully styled in a modern decor, complete with coffee machine. This produced the best, free in-room coffee I have experienced in 18 years travelling true world! Such a great addition to the experience. The rooms were immaculate and the beds very comfortable, providing me with an excellent nights sleep. I left the hotel at 5:30 am for an early flight home and all the candles were lit in the lobby area demonstrating attention to detail.

We stayed there for a weekend to enjoy the city of Berlin. The hotel is beside the zoo and aquarium and close to public transport services (subway, bus, train). The service in the hotel is perfect, especially the breakfast. The only thing, which we have not liked were the pre-mixed cocktails which were served in the pool area.

I had a comfortable stay at the InterContinental Berlin.

The room was reasonably spacious, with twin beds.
+ Good quality bedding and comfortable mattress.
+ Black-out curtain without too much gap around it.
+ Adequate desk for working, with fold-up section with mirror positioned to see your face.
+ Large fluffy towels and also bathrobes provided.
+ Rain and regular shower head over bath

- Shower screening rather inadequate to avoid soaking the bathroom floor.
- Wardrobe space was accessed through the bathroom. For a shared room, this creates a sort of dressing room, but it means suitcases have to be taken through the bathroom.
- Long hanging space was only available by removing the ironing board and iron.
- Bathroom has a sort of movable wall, containing TV and minibar facing into the room, and towel space facing into the bathroom. Swivelling this round made the bathroom semi open-plan with the bedroom, which seemed a bit of a pointless design feature.

Meals
I only had breakfasts in the hotel. The buffet had a wide choice: food was fresh and well presented. All employees provided good service.

Room Tip: Hotel is very large and is often used for conferences, so you might want to avoid rooms near the lob...

Recently got back from a weekend break in Berlin. Being a Platinum Ambassador I was upgraded to a Delluxe Room on the 7th floor which had a good view of Berlin. The room was the biggest I have ever stayed in with really modern furnishing and an equally big bathroom.

Only slight issue was that most of the places we wanted to visit were not a walking distance away do we used taxis a lot - although the public transport from the hotel is really good.

Paid a supplement for Club Lounge access which was money well spent. As well as a great breakfast, they also have a buffets lunch and dinner with warm canapés in the evening. I was particularly impressed with the choice of spirits and champagne in the Club Lounge open bar which is open from 6-10pm. They also have an iPad which can be used for guests in the club lounge which I thought is a really nice touch.

After seeing the sights and sounds of Berlin I returned to my room to find my complimentary bottle of water and fruit bowl with a wide selection of fruited, along with a welcome letter and box of choiclates. When reading the letter I was pleasantly surprised to find that the in room mini bar was complimentary (I think this comes part of the Lounge Access - which made it all the more worth the supplement).

Kevin at the concierge desk gave excellent local knowledge. Every time I rang down from the room, the person who answerd the phone always greated me with my last name, and checkout was effortless.

Will be very difficult to find another hotel as good as this one in Berlin.

I am always aboard for business and this if the first time to stay in this hotel. I normally use Stienbureg, I am speachless at this hotel as it was so bad. Noisy disco parties, and imagine where, the LOBBY bar every night! There was around 2,000 prosatutues every night that interrupter you everywhere you go in the hotel after 8pm. This was will really destroy the reputation that InterConti have. Room service was very slow. I did have a problem with my heart and they respond with an ambulancemen in 3 minutes, so I do have to say thank you for them for4 this, and also big thanks to the first aider. Food not bad and the room was nicely cleaned.

Room Tip: try to take a room with the straight view, take care the back view for most of the room is the corri...

Dear “cheesycheese”,

Thank you very much for your review. I am delighted do hear that our team was able to help you with your heart irritations and we all hope that you are feeling completely well again.

During your stay with us, the leading exhibition for the travel industry, the ITB, took place in Berlin. For this, our Marlene Bar becomes each night “The Place to be during ITB”. Experts of the travel industry are gathering together at this large networking event, sharing their experience and talking about the business. Of course they are also celebrating in the famous Marlene Bar.

I am sorry if this caused any inconvenience. Guests who prefer a quieter atmosphere can always get a room in our hotel’s west wing further away from the bar. There is also the Club InterContinental as an alternative, providing a private atmosphere in its lounge and bar area.

Kind regards,

Robert P. Herr
General Manager

I'll start from saying, that it is the best Intercontinental I ever stayed in. Hotel is new, modern, close everywhere (as close as it can be in a big city like Berlin). receptionists were great, especially those in Club Lounge (excellent value for money btw). I liked the fact, that there were plenty of English Language channels, usually hotels are just limiting their TV offer with CNN and BBC.

The only minus - housekeeping is not very well trained. Every day they were forgetting something, like change the sheets, bring new toiletries, fill up mini-bar etc., however it was fixed in a heartbeat after I called to reception.

And guys, your wake-up call system needs fixing, it's mixing up the times and rooms (at least it was so in my case).

But there is nothing perfect, at least you close to perfection:)

Room Tip: Take the Club Upgrade and ask for bigger room on the higher floor, better in the new part of buildin...
