Overall the hotel is nice. The most memorable aspect of the hotel was that it was close to the zoo and not far from shopping district. Everything was fine, but I didn't feel as though there was a great reason to return.

One nice thing is that Berlin appears to be much more affordable than some other European capitals. The city has begun to grow on me. The recent history that is all around you makes walking the streets a lot of fun.

The hotel is well located next to the zoo and the main shopping street. However, if you have visited Berlin before worth exploring closer to the "wall" area. There are some trendy bars and restaurants while next to the hotel eating out is limited.

Room Tip: If u can afford take a room on their executive floor. Rooms are ok but have weak lighting. Desk is although a bit small is practical as it can be moved around fairly easy due to its design. TV screen a bit small for size of room. Food and beverage wise is good for a confernece hotel but not for a stay so would not waste time using it for dinners.

Dear Mr. “FrequentTraveller400”,

Thank you very much for your review. Berlin is indeed a great place to go for a journey and there are so many things to discover in the different parts of the city.

As you said, our hotel is located right in the middle of Berlin next to the city’s largest park, the Tiergarten, and the nearby zoo. Within walking distance, the city center of the former West is just around the corner. You can also find restaurants with regional and local dishes only a short stroll from the hotel (like “Café am Neuen See”), or you enjoy Mediterranean and Italian cuisine in restaurants nearby (like “Sorriso” or “Lochner”).

A short bus ride of five minutes brings you to Potsdamer Platz, one of the major spots in today’s Berlin. There you can find anything you need from shopping facilities, movie and musical theatres to various restaurants and bars.

For you next stay with us, also please ask our Concierge for more insider tips around the hotel. We would be happy to welcome you back to our hotel.

With kind regards,

Robert P. Herr

Nice hotel , Nice location , great breakfast .
Received a good upgrade and large room.
Busy due to a big event in the hotel, but totally no problem for this professional hotel.
Thanks

There is an ok hotel and if you are on a business trip to Berlin it is absolutely fine.
It is however rather lacking in personality and the location is not great but ok. If you are in Berlin for more than one night or on holiday then there are better hotels in Berlin to have as a base.

Before booking check that that the hotel is not hosting a big conference (like SuperReturn) otherwise you might the hotel bar and lobby area swarming with men in grey suits.

Rooms (or at least my room) was ok although far too warm and the TV was in a cupboard with a glass screen in front of it such that you couldn't watch TV from the bed! That and the fact that the minibar and coffee were not replenished were the only things which detracted from and otherwise functional room.

Dear „VeitchB“,

Thank you very much for your review. As a business hotel we host various business events such as workshops, meetings or conferences. During certain periods, it can become very busy in our Lobby and in public spaces such as restaurants or our Marlene Bar.

We always recommend our Club InterContinental on level seven and eight in our west wing for guests who value a more private atmosphere. Besides an extra check-in facility and personal service, a separate lounge with breakfast, free service at the bar and a snack buffet awaits our guests.

With kind regards,

The staff especially Melanie in the Club Lounge (the staff are extremely well trained and professional) are superb!

We love the east wing, it dazzles in superior modern qualities, the bathrooms are excellent with the swing-around-TV cube so you can relax in the bathtub watch a film or enjoy a glass of wine.

Front office staff are also just perfect - every need and desire is their command.

I have been a priority club platinum member since 2006 I think and I just love Intercontinental Hotels - well done everyone keep up the good work at Berlin.

Room Tip: Ask for East Wing rooms, superior, deluxe, club or suites you will love the east wing
