We stayed in the Hotel Bleibtreu during the days of Berlinale 2010. The location in Charlottenburg is a bit off the center of Berlin so you have to be aware that for the usual tourist attractions you have to travel a bit (subway or taxi about 15-30min). The hotel has a friendly but modern and a bit quirky feel. The downstairs restaurant offers very good reasonably priced meals and snacks as well as breakfast/brunch. It seems to be a trendy place as we saw some german actors coming for breakfast there.

This was my second stay at the Bleibreu, i went as a solo traveller last year and went back this year with my current partner. I e-mailed the hotel and asked for the same room with a balcony and got a speedy response confirming they remembered me and booked the same room which was really good of them. The cafe is good and reasonably priced and room service is available. Good location away from the city centre but by the train station (just 5 mins walk) from the hotel. By the station there are lots of little bistro's one of which is called the zwolf Apostel just outside the station which has fabulous food. One little tip for Berlin and visiting the Reichstag, i asked the hotel to book a table at the Kafer Dachgarten on the roof of the Reichstag (030/22629933) you go in the side entrance at the front of the building and by pass the hour long wait to get in, its a bit pricey but worth it for the views and the food was good as well. Although i have stayed there before, i have yet to try the beauty salon, just never get the time. I have travelled extensively and do not do anything less than 4 star and would not hesitate to return to the Bleibtreu when i next return to Berlin, enjoy.

Stayed at the Bleibtreu during the first week of August. The people at the hotel are great- service oriented and friendly. Near the Savignyplatz s-bahn and into city centre in minutes. Room was perfect- clean and the bathroom was quite large. Kept the room clean and gave me great towel service! Great restaurants near by. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Berlin.

We spent three nights at Hotel Bleibtreu during our weekend trip to Berlin. The service of the hotel staff was great during the whole stay. They provided us with tips on nice restaurants and even checked the movie times for us when we wanted to see a movie at the local movie theater.

The room was quite small but had everything you need including minibar with free drinks which was a nice surprise. The room was very clean and was tidied up every day.

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood in Charlottenburg but it has good connections to everywhere in the city. The Savignyplatz train station is close by. There's restaurants on the same street when you walk towards Savignyplatz so you don't have to look far for a place to eat any time at the day. The hotel is located on the side street of the shopping street Kurfurerstendamm so also shopping possibilities are close by.

Overall great small hotel with friendly staff and good location for exploring the city. We would definitely stay there again.

The Bleibtreu in Berlin is a nice hotel with attached bar in a quiet street very close to Kurfürstendamm. So its a perfect location if your center of business is the old 80ies West- Berlin that manifests around Ku'damm – if you're here for leisure, you'll find lots of nice bars and restaurants around, especially around Savignyplatz. The hotel's decoration and overall design dates very obviously back to the mid-1990ies. But nevertheless, glass, the usage of light coloured woods, and some strange objects of decoration draw at least a complete and coherent picture of german 90ies design. Keep the hotel as it is and in 10-15 years and more this will be a highlight!

A friend recommended Charlottenburg, which I found charming, and I got the Bleibtreu online. The rooms have a cute, IKEA design, with square wooden furniture, a bit like a grown-up playroom. The concept is trendy, but the reality is terrible. There is no place to sit except a striped easy chair (read "prison stripes"), and a three-legged stool at a minuscule desk. All the drawers have knobs like a mineral stone that poke you. There is a remote control for the lights that doesn't work, the TV is balky, and the internet connection was a nightmare, for which I got charged. The waitress at the restaurant got my order wrong. I felt like I was in the Gulag. I know it sounds extreme, and some people found this hotel charming, but I really thought it was nightmarish. Stay away!

Dear ptakacs,

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy the interior design of the Bleibtreu which was exclusively designed by famous German Designer Herbert Jacob Weinand. The TV tower is mobile and its desk is extandible.
We would have been happy to assist you with a room change and with fixing the remote
control to make your stay more pleasant. It would be our pleasure to welcome you again as our guest.

With Kind regards
Bleibtreu Berlin Management

I stayed in this hotel from 23-26 April to celebrate a friend's birthday. The hotel is located in a quiet leafy street just off the Ku-Damn where there are lots of upmarket shops and cafes and restaurants.
Check in was extremely quick and we had two immaculate rooms overlooking a very quiet courtyard.
Buffet breakfast is very expensive at 19 euros per person however the hotel offers a separate menu where we got a substantial plate of scrambled eggs and bacon with toast and tea for 7 euros each.
Although this hotel is slightly outwith the main city centre sights there is a comprehensive transport system and the tourist bus at 12 euros each was a good deal.
Berlin as a beautiful city with a fascinating history and the Berliners are very friendly. If you can't speak German everyone seems to speak English so it's never a problem.
