This is a beautiful if unusual Catholic cathedral. First thing to be aware of is that many of the reviews below have mistaken this review page as the review page for the Berliner Dom - The Berlin Cathedral - which the Cathedral of St. Hedwig is not! Therefore, in the reviews below, when reviewers are talking about the "tour to the top of the cathedral" or the "entrance fee", they are actually talking about a different place.
This cathedral is very special. It has two levels, and effectively a different church seating area, the upper being used for large services, and the lower for small services. There are also several chapels on the lower levels, commemorating former cardinals, bishops, and other cathedral staff, including those active in the resistance against the Third Reich.
This is a very special cathedral, with a huge dome and oculus, making it unusually structured (and simple) for a catholic cathedral. But it is very special, spritual, and moving. I strongly recommend a visit. If you can, try to make an organi recital: the acoutisics is amazing!
