“Berlin escape”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Pfaueninsel Palace is a slightly faded gem in its original setting. Without a car it is not easy to get to. Nothing has been changed in the interior of the house since it was completed in the 1790s. A couple of rooms are badly faded but the originality of it all sparkles. A walk in the park is worth the extra time as it is well maintained. Peacocks and timeless views across the Wannsee prevail.

“Great part of the history of the island”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Do not forget to visit the castle during your trip to the Pfaueninsel. Its interiors and history are worth visiting for sure.

Only two tips:
1) You can purchase the tickets at the souvenir shops near the ferry.
2) Be advised that excursion is in German only.

“Worth visiting!”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

The castle was built to like a romantic place and though it seems to have stone walls it is all wood.
The interior hasn't changed for more than 200 years ... and this "Royal holiday cottage" was only inhabited just a few years.
The interior is really phantastic - but you have to a get at the entrance (when leaving the ferry), because only a cutain amount of persons is allowed to go in at one time.
