We stayed here for three nights earlier in July, and the location was perfect. Not only was it close to the main shopping area and the Tiergarten/Zoo, but the 200 bus stopped just outside the hotel and the 100 bus just around the corner. Using those 2 buses, we got almost everywhere we wanted to go in Berlin. This made our trip, which was fascinating, so easy.
There weren't many (if any) places to grab food within walking distance, but this is being picky. You could also tell that the hotel was very new, and the staff didn't seem to know Berlin very well. Nevertheless, they tried to help and there was also free internet access in the lobby which was great (though no wi-fi in the rooms which was a bit frustrating). The breakfast was decent too, with quite a variety.
I'd say it seemed more of a hotel for conferences than for holiday makers but, as we were essentially using it as a base, it was great!More
