“Epic hotel”

This hotel really exceeded our expectations. Situated centrally it is easy to get out straight out to Berlin's great attractions. We were very impressed with the staff member that greeted us and assisted with our luggage transfer to our room. This was very clean, a great size and with a super comfy bed and modern bathroom. Obviously the gigantic aquarium in the middle of the foyer was a unique feature, providing a hugely serene atmosphere when entering or exiting the hotel and a great place to enjoy a drink or two with its bar at its base. Would definitely stay here again - an excellent compliment to our engagement weekend!!

Room Tip: Some rooms face the aquarium, we had a balcony overlooking an adjacent street which was superior in...

This is a well located hotel next to the Cathedral on the river. The first thing that strikes you on entering the hotel reception is the huge aquarium, which had 2 men in full diving gear in it when I arrived! The hotel is modern and well looked after, although it isn't doesn't have much character, I don't think that's the point of staying in a Radisson! My room had a view of the acquarium, which was surreal (lying in bed looking at fish swimming!) I was there on a business trip and I enjoyed the 2 nights I stayed there - I would recommend this hotel.

Naturally what first strikes you outside the hotel is the Cathedral Church on the other side of the river Spree. I was fortunate to "get" a room opposite of the Dom, so the view from the french balcony was great. Inside you are met by a small 1 million liter aquarium, and fast and friendly staff. The Hotel is clean and modern and everything works very well, even if it's a little bit of sterile; no real character if you wish.

The location is great with a short walk to the Dom, museums and Unter Den Linden. Continue and you'll find yourself at Brandenburger Tor and from there the Reichstag etc (ca 10-15 min walk).

For business purposes I could easily chose the hotal again, but for a romantic weekend I might choose an older hotel with more charm. But COULD stay here as well.

Previous reviews say it all really. Friendly staff throughout stay. The thirty foot high aquarium in the reception area with countless fish of all kinds, including the divers who clean the tanks, is awesome.
Good selection of eating places nearby. Good shopping centre. Easy to use public transport.
Our room overlooked the fish tank which was especially beautiful at night with the coloured lights. Room was quiet and clean and a lovely bathroom.
Hotel is on the banks of the river Spree perfect location for river cruises and having coffee and watching the world go by.
Recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking Aquarium!

The Radisoon Blu is fantastic. Our room faced the aquarium in the lobby and my husband and I loved looking at all the fish. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The staff was super friendly and extra helpful. It was our first time in Berlin and the Blu definitely made our experience of the city a magical time. We walked everywhere! Close to everything you'll want to visit (and right next door to the Berliner Dome and a great flea market - which I think is available only on the weekend). The coffeehouse next door with its beautiful courtyard is the perfect place to people watch and relax. Please take this into account: I am high maintenance! I also don't normally write reviews - but our experience was so good I could not help writing one to assist people who take reviews seriously. Book a room, you will be so happy you did. Enjoy!!!

Room Tip: We loved facing the huge aquarium; room overlooked the lobby. It was peaceful and quiet.

It’s over 10 years since I was last in this part of Berlin and it has changed dramatically (and is continuing to do so – there are more construction sites and road works than you can shake a stick at.) The Hotel itself is of course part of the change – a modern addition to the area – just at the start of the Unter Den Linden. In fact the building is part of a combined development with the Berlin Sea Life centre – one of the major attractions of which – the AQUA DOM – is a striking feature of the Hotel lobby/atrium. Interesting to have a drink sat under one of the biggest fish tanks I’ve ever seen.
Many rooms have a view of the fish tank – whereas mine had a slightly strange view out into another part of the development – looking down onto the roof of the entrance to aquarium and across to offices and apartments. The room itself was fine – quite well laid out and quiet. Air con was efficient which was good as rooms tended to get very hot otherwise. Staff were relatively efficient if a little reserved – didn’t provide much information at check in. There were two fairly large conferences in while I was there – hotel didn’t cope particularly well – had to queue for breakfast; ended up sitting in the bar one morning. Same evening there was only one member of staff on the bar trying to serve the conference hordes! Didn’t eat in the restaurant – other than breakfast – which was fine.
Hotel location is good (near the old town) – although right opposite some huge construction works which I suspect will go on for some time! Also don’t believe anyone who tells you it's a pleasant 10/15 minute stroll to the Brandenburg Gate – it’s more like a 40 minute route march! Worth it when you get there but be prepared for the walk! Hotel is right next to the Cathedral and Museum Island. Good restaurants nearby in the "old town" - directly across the road opposite the hotel - around the Nikolai chruch (10mins) or courtyard dining in the Hackescher Markt (turn left out of hotel take first left - can't miss it! ) - less than 10 mins

Room Tip: Rooms in the central atrium have views of the Aqua Dom - which is a little different!

Beautiful Hotel. This was our second christmas break to Berlin and after and amazing experience in a different hotel two years previous, Radisson Blu had a lot to live up to. From arriving in a cab, to leaving in a cab, we really did have an amazing experience. The location is perfects, with good transport links to everywhere you could need. Minutes walk to Christmas markets, museums, cathedral, art galleries and shops. Some wonderful restaurants in the area too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Used room service, again friendly and hassle free. The room was a little on the small side, however beautifully decorated; good lighting; spotlessly clean and contained everything you need. Perfect for our four day winter break. The lobby was beautiful! Had a lovely evening in the hotel bar, sipping cocktails under the fish tank. In the evening the lighting in the lobby is dimmed and the bar provides a romantic backdrop for a lovely winter evening. Overall and amazing trip, with a beautify hotel. We will definitely be back in winter 2013!
