“Fantastic hotel with a superb location and wonderful breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

Fantastic hotel with a perfect location close to lots of sights, shopping and public transportation. We stayed in a business class room with a nice balcony and view of the Dome. The breakfast buffet is magnificent and has everything that you could possibly want. We also had dinner at the Restaurant Heat on New Years Eve and the World Fusion Buffet was absolutely wonderful.

The level of service wasn’t always the best. Upon check-in the woman at the reception couldn’t find our reservation and immediately suggested that we were at the wrong hotel….. However, she did find the reservation after a little more information which she could have asked for before determining that we were at the wrong place! One evening when returning to the hotel there was a really rude security guy at the door and he almost didn’t let us in…. Very strange – however we didn’t have any problems any other days where the security guys were very friendly.
One day the service personnel in charge of the Nespresso machine forgot to clean and do a refill; however after a call to the service desk they sent someone with supplies.

Even though we experienced a few hick-ups with the service, we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Book a business class room facing the Dome if you perfer a balcony, the ability to open a door to ge...

There was a phone next to the toilet which i found odd and there were no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. I was parched and a cup of tea from room service was 7 euros.
It also kind of bothered me that there wasnt any plug sockets by the beds, but that might be me being picky. There were like three news channels in english (snore) but only one entertainment which showed the same films over and over and if anyone spoke a foreolign language subtitles were still in german so you hadnt a clue what was going on.
We tried to go for a swim once and the spa didnt look busy at all but apparently there were no changing rooms so you had to get a bathrobe from them go all the way back to your room and come down again in the bathrobe. This wasnt all that appealling given that the lifts are glass and totally visible to the lobby/swanky bar area. Ivhad had a giggle at people doing it before i knew this was the deal! Just a bit odd really - maybe im just being an up tight english person!
Overall however it was in a great location for everything and there was plenty to do, and ofcourse the fish tank was amazing.

We stayed in Berlin during the Christmas Holidays, which was a great moment: much less tourists, and much more affordable prices - we allowed ourselves the luxury of staying in the 5* Radisson Blu Hotel, and it really wasn't that expensive at all. The location alone was worth every cent, right in the middle of the Mitte district and close to all sorts of public transport. The rooms are spacious and offer every comfort (free WiFi, large bathroom, small balcony), the reception area has a fantastic view with a huge indoor aquarium, but the wellness centre (and especially the swimming pool) is a bit too small for a hotel this size. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel (around, there are plenty of places where you can have breakfast until late in the afternoon!), but we did order room service, which was delicious and once again very affordable. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The 'Business Rooms' are larger and have a great view. Yet, we had a regular room, which was...

Stayed here on December 20th for one night whist making a quick visit to the german Christmas markets. Upon arrival, we were able to check in 3 hrs early! Everything about theis hotel is impressive, especially the massive aquarium in the lobby. 3rd floor room was impeccable, clean and very modern. The only thing to note was no bathroom door lock and no clock in the room, but they are only minor details. Very comfortable beds, and excellent facilities.
Stay here if you intend to visit Xmas markets - there are three within a 5 min walk, and there are bus tour trips that can take you to even more. We paid 90 euro for the night, which for 5 star luxury is very good value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the aquarium. 3rd floor or higher is good.

Stayed for 4 nights in December. Fantastic hotel. Central location for all main tourist attractions. Staff pleasant and very helpful. On booking I requested view of the Dome (cathedral) which we got. Fabulous view. Beautiful room. Fastidiously cleaned by staff. Would def recommend for a stay

My wife and I visit Berlin every Christmas; what a fantastic place. This hotel certainly has the 5* reception, with a show piece fish tank. But, unfortunately the rooms are far from 4* or 5* slightly better than Premier Inn!. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the service good not to be faulted, the bar prices would make your eyes water.

The breakfast was terrible! the hot food was cold both mornings, so we both ordered an omelette and had some fruit. I raised the issue with the hot food being cold, but the staff took no action. We normally stay at the Marriott near Postdamer. We thought we would give this hotel a go, but it failed to impress. I see the manager looks at the posts on Trip Advisor, he has a bit of work to do. I would pay the extra £60.00 and stay at the Marriot Berlin far better quality and a great location for all attractions and transport.
