We were in Berlin for easter. We went to the Zaim restaurant, we were 8 with 4 boys. We had a very very nice experience. The food was very good, tasty and we could choose among many variaties. The service and the waiters very friendly and kind. The price was right, the amount enought. The deserts really good. The atmosphere informal. A very good experience. We suggest you should go. “Good food, friendly service”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

I really can't understand the bad reviews, either. Our experience was 100% positive. We had the luck to stumble across Zaim on a snowy Easter Sunday at lunchtime. The waiter was incredibly helpful, finding room for our pushchair, patiently explaining the dishes despite our lamentable German (I hate just expecting everyone to speak English; when in Rome....) and serving us quickly (hungry, grumpy child making this a priority). The food itself was tasty and fresh: Babaganouj with chili peppers, falafel and the great "Beirut der 70er" dish (try it). Our son, culinary nightmare that he is, finished off a huge plate of ravioli in tomato sauce; an Easter miracle in itself.
Final bill was very reasonable and we felt more than ready to hit the freezing streets again.

“Classic but casual”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

This cafe and restaurant is in Prenzrauer berg. About 5 min from U2 Eberswalder strasse station, and at the corner of Kastanienallee and Oderberger strasse. I had a Caprese and a glass of red wine. It was sufficient for 1 person, and costed under 10 euros! Cheep!

I don't understand the negative reviews. I have visited two times. Nice atmosphere and delicious food. I recommend salads (chicken specially good!), hummus and fresh vegetable dishes. Inexpensive.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

We had dinner at Zaim last night. We had a table outside and a grumpy waiter who seemed to be overworked. We just had our food served when the sky turned dark and it started to pour. Everybody outside started to move tables so as to keep dry. No one from the waiters helped, my wifes schnitzel was soaked from the rain. Not that that mattered very much because her first bite of the food reminded her of the proverbial shoe sole: absolutely indedible. I had salmon, so small you needed magnifying glasses to find it on the plate, the taste was nothing special. Our son had steak which was ok.
All in all very disappointing, especially the staff who never checked their guests outside during the rain and hail storm.
