We had dinner at Zaim last night. We had a table outside and a grumpy waiter who seemed to be overworked. We just had our food served when the sky turned dark and it started to pour. Everybody outside started to move tables so as to keep dry. No one from the waiters helped, my wifes schnitzel was soaked from the rain. Not that that mattered very much because her first bite of the food reminded her of the proverbial shoe sole: absolutely indedible. I had salmon, so small you needed magnifying glasses to find it on the plate, the taste was nothing special. Our son had steak which was ok.
All in all very disappointing, especially the staff who never checked their guests outside during the rain and hail storm.

Arrived late at our apartment, ...& was starving, checked out a few menus, wanted a schnitzel so went into Zaim. The menu is in English & German, the waitress spoke English, not compulsory but an added bonus. My pork schnitzel was great with the salad & oven potatoes, my partner had the big skewer with lamb, beef & chicken, served with rice & salad. With the drinks the waitress bought out a chilli dip & two different breads. Very reasonably priced, I thought, also enjoyed our chat with the waitress.

Maybe they just had a bad day, maybe they just profit from their strategic location good for catching tourists that wont come again anyway.
We had the kebab platter with fries and salad...to cold and honestly...so many good kebabs around the Corner and we picked those that must have been made in a factory and stored frozen. Realy barely edible.
Coffe is no good either

When the restaurant we were looking for was closed, we walked by Zaim at Kastanienallee 15 and decided to give it a try. We were quite pleased with the atmosphere, food and service. The weiner schnitzel service was huge and could have served two.

This is really not the place you should go for "mediterranean and international fine food". The food tastes either burnt or nothing at all. And the music was loud and terrible. What is it with Berlin and techno all over the place?
