If your business is in West Berlin and looking for good location and a top notch low hassle hotel, go here. I have followed it over the years, and they manage to keep up. I almost never care about staff, but these people showed that extra attitude while respecting my time.
The area is Germany in the sixties. Walking distance to several Berlin gems, such as Paris Bar and the oyster bar at KaDeWe.

A few days before our arrival, I contacted the hotel to confirm that we will have a king bed and not two connected twins with a crack in the middle. We ended up with exactly these twin beds and due to the fact that the hotel is apparently fully booked the hotel can't help us. For somebody who wanted to make this a very special trip to Germany, this is almost not acceptable.
Our room is on the third floor and it stinks awful because on this floor you have smoking on non smoking rooms at the same time... This is unacceptable!
I am rating a 5 star hotel and the stakes and standards should be high...the tv has the size of my pc screen and there is no iron.
The best thing of this hotel is its location - one block of the Ku"damm and close to the KaDeWe.
Whether it was just bad luck this time or hotel standard, I wouldn't spend my time here again...it can always happen that something goes wrong or isnt perfect but then dear Steigenberger Hotel: Fix it!,, Berlin is full of 5 star hotels for even less money.

This hotel was one of several 4* and 5* hotels in Berlin offering very good rates for a midweek stay. We selected it because it had a pool. The hotel was nice and newly renovated, although probably not as thoroughly as possible as there were parts of the hotel that sill seemed dated. The room was nice and clean, if a little small, and the pool was a great place to relax. The hotel was very conveniently located near the U-Bahn and for shopping at KaDeWe.

Almost everything was very good about our stay, but the lobby stank of sewage, to the point that I would have expected a notice or apology, because it was really quite gross. I intended to inform the staff of this when they asked how our stay was on checkout, but we were not asked, which was below par service for a hotel claiming 5* status.

I am sure the smell problem will be rectified, but the incident suggests there is room for improvement in customer service.

(Also - the hotel has a cigar room on the ground floor, which may come as a surprise to travellers used to smoke-free indoor environments. I could not detect smoke at all in our non-smoking room, so this was generally not a problem, although the cigar room was near the restaurant, which may bother some people.)

This hotel is in a great location about a 3 mins walk to the ku'damm shopping area, train station,u bahn & buses. We stayed in an executive room this was big with a really comfortable bed, minibar, coffee maker ,robes & slippers. The bathroom had bath/shower,hairdryer,plenty of towels & was spotlessly clean. We did not eat in the restaurants & did not have breakfast we thought 25 euros was a little expensive. There is a few good restaurants in the vicinity also the Euro centre a few mins away.We did sit in the piano bar in the evening this was very nice & relaxing after a long day sightseeing. If the price of the breakfast was a little more reasonable & we had tried the food I would have given this hotel an excellent rating. All in all a lovely hotel with friendly staff ( we did not find many friendly faces in other parts of Berlin unfortunately) We would go back to this hotel if in the future we returned to Berlin.

Room Tip: Executive rooms are lovely & beds very comfortable. We were on the 6th floor & had a good nig...
