my only moan was that they don't do double beds, instead you have to join two singles together?
other than this, room was good. bathroom and shower were nice. hotel food (breakfast) was very good and staff all spoke English and were very helpful.

in terms of location, its about a 10 min tram ride into the city center and about 20 min ride to the airport. I quite liked the location and it wouldn't put me off staying there again.

Room Tip: every other floor has drink vending machines. the bottled water in the room is NOT complimentary!

I don't know what I had taken to have chosen this hotel for a one night stay in Berlin. Not that there is anything wrong with the hotel, but, the location is a bit remote if you want to explore the inner city. If you are interested in history, do not forget to visit The Weissensee Jewish Cemetery and Gedenkstätte Berlin- Hohenschönhausen (the Stasi museum). Both at a walking distance. Luckily, there are tram stops all around the hotel, too. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the business class room was nice too. Nothing new and modern, but clean and comfortable. My photos tell more than 1000 words.

Stayed here a week for my first visit to Berlin. Check in and check out both quick and easy. Check in staff were very pleasant and extremely informative; giving me a map and pointing out places to go. I was offered a choice of rooms on different floors which was nice. When I got to the room was surprised how big it was. The only negative thing about the room was no tea and coffee making facilities. However there was a self service cold drinks dispenser on every second floor which even stocked beer.
When I required an iron and ironing board I phoned housekeeping and requested this using my rudimentary German. The housekeeper delivered my request very quickly and then spoke to me in perfect English: that probably speaks volumes about how bad my German was!

I didn't use the restaurant but ate elsewhere in Berlin. The only downside of the hotel was its location, requiring a short tram ride to the nearest U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations but I knew about this before I booked. The trams were very regular which made the experience very easy.

Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Berlin.

We stay here on a group stag weekend . staff were very friendy and very helpfull.
rooms very clean. Breakfast was very good eat and much as you want for about 11 euros however the resturant is way to small for the size of the hotel and gets very very busy and hard to get a table!! the staff did very well with keeping the food topped up. the only problem was No Tea coffee in the rooms which is how ever an IHG brand standard! where this had gone i dont know!!! getting in to the City center was very easy with an excellent cheap tram service which runs 24hrs. about 20 min tram ride into the center of berlin on just one tram, and a 2min walk from the hotel to the tram stop, also an excellent Kabab kiosk just around from tram stop open 24/7 with fresh cheap food and drink. Try not to use taxi to and from the airport unless you really have to cost us 40 euros from Schönefeld Airport. 45 min to an hour journey. Loved this hotel! Loved Berlin! Will return very soon...

We went on a grouptour and Holiday Inn Berlin City East was our Hotel.
I was sceptical because I read reviews all over the internet.... but i was very pleased. Nice and very CLEAN!!!! rooms. Walking to the city is kinda farr. But since we are not afraid of catching a tram/train we just took the tram when we didn't ride with the tourbus. There's 2 trams that stop near the hotel (5 min walk to tram sto)
Breakfast was good althought the same everyday and as I've read... cold coffee, milk and choco.milk. But I think you can ask them to warm it up, tea was hot thoug :-). I didn't like the single beds pushed together to a twin bed but besides that no complaints. I think most European hotels have that standard. Not allot to see on tv and no i'net (unles you pay) but we were mostly outside traveling.
And we didn't have any problems in regards to noise.
Good price for a good hotel! You get what u pay for.

Although hotel has good access to tram lines and buses which will take you to the city center, the hotel is far away from everything. 45 minutes by taxi from Tegel Airport. It is used by big bus tours so mornings and evenings are very busy.

Hotel staff friendly, helpful. Rooms adequate, housekeeping adequate.

Restaurants have very limited menu, almost nothing for vegetarians. Breakfast buffet very good, but layout of room makes it difficult to access buffet line. Impossibly small area for large tour groups and staff inadequate to deal with turnover of tables. All restaurant service very slow, even when there are only a few people dining.

No amenities, for example no mini-bar in room, no coffee maker, almost non-existant toiletries, no swimming pool, health club etc.

Rooms noisy, both from traffic outside hotel and from hotel doors slamming shut in corridor.

Would only go back for business meetings Otherwise look elsewhere!
