“Worth a visit if you have time”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

A small but interesting display with English translations. It is a little out of the way but worth visiting if you are near and have an hour. There is no entry charge.

“A look into the past”
Reviewed April 19, 2014 via mobile

Wanted to take a deeper look into the Cold War era and the divide between East and west. A nice little exhibition, highlighting the chaos the divide caused. Nice to see original booths that were used and some nice information boards to add to the little knowledge I had. Worth a look.

“Great museum but don't follow TripAdvisor map!?”
Reviewed April 17, 2014

We eventually found this by asking a friendly bus driver near to where tripadvisor had suggested this excellent museum was - a few miles down the road near ALEXANDERPLATZ?!
It is in fact right outside friedrichstrasse train station in a surprisingly modern looking building. Exhibition was very harrowing and very informative. Its crazy what went on then and the propoganda both sides fired at their own people.

“Another piece of history rebuilt”
Reviewed April 16, 2014 via mobile

As happens to various important historical landmarks in Germany, free entrance to try to experience what was one of the most painful parts of the country's division.
Friedrichstrasse Station was the connection between the two Berlins and where families and friends had to say goodbye or were happy to meet again after long.
Palace of Tears (Tränen Palast) is the name given to this hall where passports were checked and people waited to reunite.
Like in other museums where the history of GDR is told, there are many personal objects, photos and voice records of people telling their own experience.
Touching and very well set.

“History”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Found this by accident and for those interested in the Nazi years this is a must see. Follows the rise of the SS in pictures (not all pleasant).
