“Don't miss the Cafe by the lake”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Tiergarten is a wonderful oasis in the city - great for a bike ride!! We had tea in the Cafe am Neuen See which is just wonderful - judging by the amount of tables and chairs it must be a very popular spot during weekends and summer holidays.

“Very Pretty”

Lovely place to walk around on a hot summers day. My partner and I walked around for a few hours and just enjoyed taking in the wonderful scenery.

“Former Imperial hunting grounds”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

This large green space has many interesting features and is the central park of Berlin. Former on the edge of the city it was originally the Kaisers' hunting retreat. Today it is one of many of Berlin's parks. The biggest and the best.

“Lungs of the city”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Huge park in the center of the city, actually between the two city centers. Boulevard 17. June goes through it. In this park you can visit the Zoo, Aquarium, some lakes, a lot of paths to walk around. On the other end ( east) you reach the Brandenburg Gate. It closes the gates at 9 pm so be careful.

“A leafy retreat in the middle of a big City”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

iI fell in love with Tiergarten - an oasis of calm in the middle of a big city. We walked from the beginning and found the Victory Statue = amazing. We contined then by a cycle ricksaw ride to the Brandenburg Gate = cost 10 euros and worth it as took us over 1mile.. Day two we walked up from the other side and there was a lovely open air cafe under the railway arches for a well derserved lunch. My only complaint would be that generally I expected some ice cream vendors and small cafes along the paths but there were none.Day 3 found us in Tiergarten again and there were musians playing - a guy with a big bubble machine and other acts so was lovely to watch. Also there are memory boards about the Berlin Wall which were very interesting to read. Loved the leafy walks and the benches to sit and watch the world go by
