“Nice park but not more”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

Green and vast park in Berlin, though Berlin itself seems to be very green and fresh city. It's not always clear eveb where a park finishes and city streets start. The only strange thing is that even on week-ends it seems somehow abandoned and empty. No children on playgrounds and no walkers on noiseless paths.

“A Pleasant Walk”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

A forcible Walk due to the Berlin Marathon. Having decided to walk back to the Hotel from the Brandenburg Gate, I found that they had cut off my shortcut across the Tiergarten and I had to see rather more of it than I intended. Luckily the weather was lovely and certainly a good walk for the family

a beautiful oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city - great for strolling, cycling, running or even boating on the lake.

“Beautiful and expansive garden to while the hours away”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Tiergarten is a massive forest previously a royal hunting ground. There are lakes and lawns and tree lined paths throughout the garden. Hire a bike to cover more ground, take a long stroll to take it all in, or bring a picnic basket and a cold beer to spend the afternoon relaxing in nature. Definitely worth spending a bit of time here if you're not too short on time in Berlin.

“It's bigger than it looks, so rent a bike or take a coach”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

The park is quite large, but it is very lovely. It feels almost like a magical forrest at times, with some very lovely paths nestled amongst the foliage. It's very wide, though, so don't be fooled: if you want to cross it, rent a bike or a segway, or ride through it in a taxi. The monument in the middle of it is really beautiful, and of course the Brandenburg Gate is a wonderful backdrop.
