The art work on this 1km section of the wall is fantasic.
It is a must see for any traveller to Berlin.
Nice place to walk and have a stop along the river for a coffee or beer.

A visit to gallery gives you a feeling of the dividing Berlin wall, the history of its coming up and metamorphosis it underwent. The paintings reflect the mindset and psyche of not only artists but the people of Germany in general. However something should be done to prevent damage by scribbling. It teaches you a lot about pain of separation and loss of opportunities.

Get in there before this amazing wall gets knocked down. The East Side Gallery is the longest piece of the Berlin wall that is still standing and it is a continued testament to the spirit of the city. It is an amazing outdoor gallery that is covered in some very interesting artwork. I think a walk past the wall is a wonderful way to spend an evening.

Some of the paintings are truly inspiring, and the project as a whole is impressing. It is also kind of amazing to see that the wall is accually not that high...
As mentioned by other reviewers, the project is threatened by developers that would like to destroy or replace the project to make room for new appartments.
Also, on the other side of the bridge, on one of the buildings wall there is a great mural.

The length makes an impression as well as the many scenarios outlined by the individual artists. A shame that 'prats' exist everywhere and mindless scribbles and jokes which should last 10 seconds get added by ' passer by's and then left for months . The great shame is the segment which was lost for the O2 world boating stage seems to be the first and the pressure will grow in this commercail real preset world for this gallery to be lost . Sad but a necessary consequence of moving West !!
