What a gem of a place I suggest you go and see for your self was beaten away from the unique place and story behind it. One of a kind

I've visited this place this spring lured by its history and architecture. On these matters we were very satisfied - the building itself indeed is a Bunker with a great history and very well renovated and modernised interiors. Despite re-arangements the building keeps its old soul and fall-out climate.
Its amazing space'y and minimalistic interiors indeed are great for varied exhibitions and art installations and it did host around 10 different artists the time we went to see it. The arts itself were, hmmm, yes, modern, very modern, but modern does not necessarily mean immediately smart and innovative - out of 10 maybe 3 artists were inspiring.
Maybe I was a bit biased after visiting Oslo modern art museum couple of weeks ago which was far more mind provoking. Possibly if we went there for an event we would appreciate it far more.
btw: I am generally very sceptical about things, especially about things that claim to be ground-breaking.

One month turned out to be not enough lead time to get into a group tour so we splurged on a private one. At 200 Euros this is an expense not to be taken lightly but our family thoroughly enjoyed the visit. In particular, both our sons (12 and 15) were very positive, which is saying something.
Our guide gave us a thorough but very well paced tour that gave us insights into both the building itself and the art displayed there. He was very knowledgable about both and was happy to answer our questions. We had specified an English-language tour and that aspect was also flawless.
The venue is really extraordinary and an attraction in its own right. The art is thoroughly contemporary which may not be everyone's cup of tea [be honest with yourself!] We happen to be interested in this and, while not admiring every single piece, certainly found a lot that was visually captivating, ingenious, and thought-provoking.
All in all, a definite highlight of our visit to Berlin.

this old cold war bunker turned night club turned art gallery is an essential stop for art aficionados. but be sure to book it in advance, there's no way to skip the line or decide to turn there out of the blue (you can try your lucky, but i strongly recommend booking your tour in advance). not cheap, definitely not for all tastes, but it has one of the best art collections in europe.

If you manage to abstract from the fact that this was built to be a bunker - and probably functioned so saving many lives - this is a valuable architecture
