Owner description: Art collection housed in a former bunker
Reviewed July 4, 2018

One month turned out to be not enough lead time to get into a group tour so we splurged on a private one. At 200 Euros this is an expense not to be taken lightly but our family thoroughly enjoyed the visit. In particular, both our sons (12 and 15) were very positive, which is saying something.
Our guide gave us a thorough but very well paced tour that gave us insights into both the building itself and the art displayed there. He was very knowledgable about both and was happy to answer our questions. We had specified an English-language tour and that aspect was also flawless.
The venue is really extraordinary and an attraction in its own right. The art is thoroughly contemporary which may not be everyone's cup of tea [be honest with yourself!] We happen to be interested in this and, while not admiring every single piece, certainly found a lot that was visually captivating, ingenious, and thought-provoking.
All in all, a definite highlight of our visit to Berlin.

this old cold war bunker turned night club turned art gallery is an essential stop for art aficionados. but be sure to book it in advance, there's no way to skip the line or decide to turn there out of the blue (you can try your lucky, but i strongly recommend booking your tour in advance). not cheap, definitely not for all tastes, but it has one of the best art collections in europe.

If you manage to abstract from the fact that this was built to be a bunker - and probably functioned so saving many lives - this is a valuable architecture

I had actually been here in June of 2016 but I don't think that will affect anyone's experience if they're willing to go!!
It is a must see bunker which houses an entire art gallery inside of it with expositions that challenge your senses and , quite frankly, your sanity! Ahah.

Make sure to book a spot before going because the place works by usually touring around the bunker in a small group where spots quickly get taken.

It was an incredible experience which everyone must check out. It is 1 hour - completely worth it

When we arrived at the hotel, we started searching for a nice museum of abstract art. After a few clicks we found Sammlung Boros. The website wasn’t really clear (on smartphone) and on some forums they recommend you to book a tour months before you visit this museum. Against all advices, we diced to just go to the museum and see what happens :).

When we arrived at this massive bunker, we asked if there is a place left in one of the tours that day. (They have tours with 12 persons each, because of the safety. There are no fire exits.) there were no places left, but... the next day they had two cancellations! We decided to make the reservation for the next day.

The next day, we had the greatest tour in the most impressive museum all time. The art is really great and the story behind the bunker interesting. We had a nice touring guide that gave us enough time to look around the pieces of art while she was telling about it. Every minute of the one and a half hour tour was totally worth it.

Long story short; if you want to be sure you got a spot on one of the amazing tours and see some incredible pieces of art, make a reservation far before you visit Berlin.

Notice: every exhibition stays for 4 years. So if you can’t find a spot on the tour today, try next week, or next month, or year.
