You cannot be staying in a better location in berlin than this hotel. I guess you are paying top dollar for the location.

The hotel is really classy and you will feel under dress if you are not in a shirt and pants.

Service is what you will expect from a 5 star hotel. I really like the nice little touch of providing a overnight shoe polishing service which not all 5 star hotels provide.

My only problem with the hotel is the breakfast. Staying here for 4 nights, the breakfast selection is the same throughout with no changes in some of the menu. There are some rooms with a wonderful view of the gate, so do ask the waitress for those tables. Also, they do have a tea menu but you have to specifically ask for it - i will prefer them to show it to me rather than me having to second guess what is available

Please let us explain to you that our breakfast menu is quit varied, so it is almost impossible to taste all kinds of offers in one day.
In addition to the buffet, you also have the option of odering á la carte and communicate your individual wishes to our staff.
Please also be informed that many foods are also seasonally adapted and exchanged.

Very hot weather last week, over 90 degrees Fahrenheit, accompanied by incredible afternoon downpours. Glad to have been at the Adlon four 4 nights. The hotel is enormous, the rooms are very comfortable and there is actually no need to find the small gym,..by the time you find this little subterranean crypt you will have had enough exercise. The lobby is spacious and beautiful, not sure if anyone really sleeps in their rooms, seems like this popular schmoozing area was fully occupied during my waking hours. Had three encounters with concierges. The first concierge was curt and off putting to a beautiful young “Channel” dressed hotel guest. I was next in line. I wear Wrangler jeans, he did not discriminate, he was equally short on information, equally yet politely rude and dismissive to me. Luckily he did not work 24/7 and there were other very nice concierges to choose from the next time. The real problem with the hotel is the delicious overly abundant breakfast experience. A huge variety of my top 10 of favorite foods, bacon, eggs, watermelon, cantaloupe, croissants, orange juice, smoked salmon aka lox, cheese, cured meats aka salami and of course there is a cook station where there are even more temptations and the dining area is beautiful and if you sit along the railing you can look down to the people who “never leave their seats” in the lovely lobby area. Dinner and staff in the restaurant are excellent with stellar views of Brandenburg Gate and it is the perfect location to view tourists running for cover as the lighting storms unleashed their torrential rains. Yup gained 5 pounds but overall a great hotel experience.

Stayed 4 nights in the hotel as my husband was here for work. It is indeed a beautiful hotel with excellent view of the Brandenburg gate. The size of the room was decent but the toilet was abit small.

However, I would expect more for a five star hotel given the price paid:

1) The ambience of the Breakfast Rooms are lovely. But it was the same every morning with limited selections - the usual bread, butter, jam, cold cuts, juices & egg station.

As for the Asian selection, it was fried rice, white porridge, dumplings & char siew bun every morning. The only change we saw was the tag (i.e. from dumplings to siew mai), but it was essentially the same food offered. And on one of the occasions, the fried rice was soggy n drenched in soy sauce; and the herring offered at the breakfast buffet table tasted abit off. The sausages were very hard and dry.

I have also ordered the poached eggs and it was overcooked - almost like a hard boiled egg. Also, they do provide eggs benedict / florentine, pancakes, belgium waffle on the menu but it was so-so.

There was a good selection of tea, perhaps it would be good to provide a tea list. As it would be tough on the staff to recommend a whole list of tea.

2) We did not receive turn down service on one of the nights. We returned to the hotel at about 9pm.

3) The toiletries were not replenished everyday. No tea bags available in the room, only Nespresso with capsules.

Overall, our stay was a decent one - bed was comfortable, the linen & towels are clean and of good quality.

I am amazed by this legendary property and had been staying here for the past 4 nights. Facilities were top class and the room decent sized with great amenities.

The only area which needs improvement is in the staff approach to guests in “conflicting situations”.

My family and I had returned from a day out in Berlin (8 June afternoon) and we decided to get some ice cream from “Adlon To Go” before returning back to our rooms. After purchasing the ice cream, it is natural that we will start consuming it while walking to the lifts and back up to our room. While entering the main lobby, we were stopped by one of the staff members who mentioned that the consumption of ice cream was not allowed and we have to finish it outside the lobby. This was despite me mentioning that we will just be walking back to our room to finish the ice cream.

Nevertheless, I decide not to argue further and we finished the ice cream outside the driveway stairs before returning to the hotel. In my opinion, I don’t see the issue with consuming the ice cream (furthermore it was purchased from Adlon’s F&B) within the hotel premises.

Unless the hotel is so particular that guests will be dropping “to go” food all over the carpets that I may suggest placing a sign at the main entrance mentioning no consumption of food at the lobby. But yet again, the lobby lounge serves food and drinks where spillage may occur. So I appreciate if the staff can exercise some tact while handling such situations in the future or place notices at the lobby informing guests if food is not permitted for consumption within the lobby. Thanks.

We have read much about this hotel in front of Brandenburg, and it did not disappoint.
As an old hotel the room is not very large but it was very nice with all the amenities. The breakfast is very good and with many varieties. The restaurant Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer ranks among one of the best great hotel restaurants. The service staff are patient and attentive. And finally, the location. It is only one hundred yard away from the Brandenburg Gate. Although it was always crowded on the plaza the rooms are very quiet.
