We requested and received a great negotiation for a suite with a gate view upgraded from our pre-paid standard room reservation for a good discount. The assistant manager and desk staff could not have been more courteous or friendly. This is a very high end hotel but the staff maintains a friendly and amiable manner, if you are friendly, they respond in kind. Denfinatly not stuffy. It made our stay very memorable, the concierge Andre Hofftman was one of the best we have ever had the pleasure to work with, he manages that service with warmth and the utmost professionalism. We went to both the Opera and Symphony with excellent seats. The breakfast buffet and dining was top notch, room service delicious. But the room, ah the room. The thrill of the view was worth every, every penny. (quite a few) The bed was wonderful. The hotel was build in '95 but feels classic and a bit deco in spots, not at all dated. The in room electronics are slightly older but wonderfully effecient and delightful in their charecter. The pool and spa were fine and well staffed. All in all an experience that will last a life-time and worth every euro.

After the airlines cancelled my scheduled flight and I got placed on an early morning flight, I called this hotel and told them I would be arriving well before check-in time. They said they would do their best to accommodate me, but no promises were made. I arrived from the airport and the doorman took my luggage and said it would be taken to my room. I check in and am escorted up into my room which was just what I had requested. and this was at about 10 AM.
The public area is just beautiful. Unfortunately they do not allow pictures. All of the staff is dressed in uniforms that harken back to a period before the wars. The quality of the service is beyond anything i could have imagined. When you call for a wakeup, they ask you if you would like a complimentary cup of coffee at the time of the call. Then they ask you if you would like a follow up call 10 minutes later in case you want to snooze.
When my breakfast was delivered to the room, the woman asked if I wanted her to pour my coffee.
The turndown service at night was exceptional. They put your slippers out on this over sized napkin, I guess, so your feet never have to touch the carpet.
Very important to travelers like me who cling to old habits, this was the one hotel on my month long trip that cashed travellers checks with no questions asked or a commission.
Steps from the front door is the subway entrance, and I do mean steps. I had a view of the Brandenberg Gate from my window that looked out on Unter den Linden.
That street is vibrant with activities until about midnight. The windows were very efficient in closing out the sound when I wanted to sleep.
The room size was adequate and had the most up to date appurtences, including light switches in the first drawer of the nightstands, ,making it very easy to darken the room while in bed. There was a full size tub and separate shower which had 2 shower heads, the extra being flush with the ceiling if you wanted that "under a waterfall" effect.
Frankly I've never been pampered by a hotel staff as I was here.
Just a great experience.

Located close to the Brandenburg Gate. Two underground line in front of the hotel. The concierge is very professional and helpful. The deluxe room is beautiful, with all amenities and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is great. I recommend the breakfast with room service: wonderful! The swimming pool and the jacuzzi are amazing and relaxing. The gym is nice and plenty of machines. A really gorgeous place to stay in Berlin. I'll go back!

We stayed here for four nights to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and having looked at Tripadvisor first, I booked the Adlon. We were not disappointed - luxury, wonderful service, fabulous buffet breakfast. Looking at hotels in London recently, I think the Adlon was v.good value for money. Excellent for a celebratory occasion.

My husband and I travelled to Berlin at the end of March 2010 for four nights. After much deliberation we decided to stay at the Adlon as it was centrally located from a sight seeing perspective, it was in an area where all the Embassys are located and therefore a good chance of getting nice food, it had a certain WOW factor and while it could not be described as inexpensive, for a 5 star hotel it was quite affordable.

The Adlon is an excellent hotel. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the leisure and spa area will not disappoint and the concierge on duty was polite, helpful and made our stay in Berlin a special experience. From his choice of restaurants to recommending places to see - he got it right every time. Even his advice on where to go for some retail therapy was spot on.

Berlin is an amazing city and well worth a visit but for us the Adlon was the icing on the cake.

The Adlon - a classy hotel with beautiful features and outstanding staff that go the extra mile.

Booked an Easter package online which included accommodation, breakfasts and an Easter Brunch. On arrival an upgrade to a Suite for an extra 100 Euro was offered, which was a lot less than the best online rate.

The room was lovely and spacious for a European hotel. Although classified as a Suite, the extra room was really a lounge area rather than an extra room or extra bathroom. There was a double sink in the bathroom and separate toilet and shower. The shower was lovely with a bench to sit, rain showerhead and also the option to turn the shower into a steam room (but did not get a chance to try that). Great deep bath with good salts which takes a tall person easily.

The bed was a 4-poster but a little hard for my liking. Otherwise it was huge and the sheets were soft and comfortable. Pillow menu was available.

The hotel is dog friendly. Expensive at 50 Euro a day but the staff delivered a dog bed and feeding bowls to the room. Plus a dog treat that our small dog did not manage to finish within the 3 days we were there. Our dog was welcome in the bar which was lovely for a late night drink. The back door of the hotel can take you straight to the Tiergarten which was good for the pup and also wonderful for a stroll...

As mentioned by any others, the location of the hotel is the best in Berlin. A few steps to the Brandenberg Gate and all the new buildings and monuments around there. Just wonderful for a weekend break. Parking onsite was good although we did not use it during our stay - around 32 Euro a day.

Finally, the Brunch in Quarre restaurant for Easter Sunday was huge and good value. For an extra 30 Euro you can free-flow Champagne (Moet Vintage) which is excellent value. 3 hours on a Sunday with fantastic food was a joy. Room service was excellent - we had the surf and turf.
