Luckily, we had a lot of spare frequent flyer points lying around, unused, or we couldn't have afforded this hotel. It is very expensive but worth it in either points or Euros. Service is excellent. It is in a great location in the former East Berlin with a view of the Brandenburg Gate and in the same block and the French, British and American embassies. The room was impeccable, wood built ins, two sets of double-glazed windows so it was quiet and dark at night.
I might add that everything is expensive; the food, etc. But there are plenty of places to go in Berlin when you're there so you don't have to eat in the hotel unless you want to.
