Went there primarily to view their collection of Holbein paintings but each room i went into held new wonders. From Bruegel to Caravaggio, Botticelli to Rembrandt, their collection is amazing and you feel that you can get closer to the paintings than in virtually any other gallery i have visited. The audio guide gives detailed information on some, but not all of the paintings and, given the number of paintings in their collection, you have to be selective otherwise they tend to merge into one.
I would like to see more seating in the rooms to both study the paintings in depth and to rest my weary feet.
Admission includes the Audio guide but there is no discount with the Berlin Welcome Card.
Not suitable for young children as they would be bored and probably shatter the peace & serenity within the galleries but well worth a visit.

Definitely worth a visit while in Berlin. An excellent, reasonably sized collection of the Old Masters. Very good audio guide.

Exactly as it says on the tin - very varied good quality collection by all the old masters including some famous German names too. The building is perfectly designed for purpose, spacious and well lit, showing the works off to full advantage. Well stocked shop if you want to take a few postcard miniatures home with you. Very nice upstairs cafe/ eaterie .

Lovely gallery, easy to find. We only viewed the paintings as I specifically wanted to see the two paintings by Vermeer. I could have sat and looked at them all day! You have to leave your bag in a locker downstairs which costs 1€ (refundable). It's nice to walk around with just your camera and the map they give you so you know what is in each room. Lots of staff around to make sure you keep behind the line to view the paintings.
