Went there primarily to view their collection of Holbein paintings but each room i went into held new wonders. From Bruegel to Caravaggio, Botticelli to Rembrandt, their collection is amazing and you feel that you can get closer to the paintings than in virtually any other gallery i have visited. The audio guide gives detailed information on some, but not all of the paintings and, given the number of paintings in their collection, you have to be selective otherwise they tend to merge into one.
I would like to see more seating in the rooms to both study the paintings in depth and to rest my weary feet.
Admission includes the Audio guide but there is no discount with the Berlin Welcome Card.
Not suitable for young children as they would be bored and probably shatter the peace & serenity within the galleries but well worth a visit.
