“Interesting history”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

I have seen a lot of negative comments about this museum and I suspect it has more to do with expectations. The museum is small but actually pretty unique among erotic art museums in its content. The history of Beata is interesting in its own right and the museum has chosen to focus on historical aspects of eroticism. If you are looking for overtly erotic displays, they exist but are not the focus of this museum.

“Not bad”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

A little over priced for what it was however it was well presented and not so tacky or cheap looking as expected. Not bad for a giggle with the other half.

“Way too expensive for what it is”
Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I decided to check out the Erotic Museum while we were out walking around the area. The museum is on two floors, which were covered in about 10 minutes. I was expecting more for the 8 euros per person. In my opinion it was quite boring. The only good thing was the sex shop on the first floor, good variety of products and clothing but very expensive. You can find the same items elsewhere for much cheaper. In my opinion, the sex store is worth a visit but pass on the museum.

“One of Berlin's 'Secret Cabinets'.”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We found the Erotic Museum by accident, seeing it signposted. It is well worth a visit for it includes a large collection of rare objects from all over the world that celebrate the worship of the Priapus (phallus) and generative powers. These are such items that you will see on display in the significant 'Secret Room' in Naple's Architectural Museum and 'Secret Cabinets' in other major museums. These include the Altes (old) Museum in Berlin., but the Erotic Museum has a bigger collection than some of these more established museums. Do not be put off by the fact that enter the Museum, which opened in 1996, through the entrance to the Beate Uhse sex shop. You take a lift to the top floor and start with an exhibition about the life of Beate Uhse, who apparently dedicated her life to fighting for social acceptance of sexuality. Be open minded and you will be fascinated.

“Do not waste your money and time!!!”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

My friend and I visited this museum on our business trip to Berlin.
The exhibition is distributed over two floors.
You start from the top one in which it is possible to experience an useless and extremely boring string of documents and photo about Beate Uhse who created this museum (her long-held dream...).
The first floor is fully dedicated to a lots of drawings which are repetetive and completely devoid of any molecule of libido .
That's it!
You could have a look in the sex shop when you enter on the ground floor, but it is quite similar to what you can find near your home.
Do not waste your time and money (8 euros per person!!!) visiting this museum (this is not a museum it is a complete rip-off)
