“Stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

As always this attraction does not fail to impress

The history of the building, the people behind it and the crypts make it all worth visiting

Missed the trip to the top of the Dome this time round though

“More than just a cathedral”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

The Berliner Dom charged for entry but there was much more than just the cathedral as the upper floors provided history of the cathedral's architecture, panoramic view of the surrounding areas and part of the cathedral not usually open to the public. With the Berlin card, the discounted fee was reasonable as many buildings' maintenance required financial support from the public. A worthwhile visit.

“Lovely Cathedral from top to bottom!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

The Cathedral is very easy to get to as it is just off the Unter den Linden and by museum island. We had actually walked past it a few times admiring it from the outside but always going somewhere else. However,we did eventually decide to go inside on a whim and are very glad that we did. It is 7 euro for an adult but, think ,our 15 year old was free. It is quite beautiful inside and appears to be the final resting place for a large number of Prussian aristocracy. We were able to climb up to the top and out onto the outside walkway of the Cathedral which gives you some lovely views of Berlin.Be warned,if you are not too fit then you may want to avoid climbing all the way to the top -and down again! Once the top was climbed it was then down to the crypt where a number of coffins are laid out .Rather sad to see how many young children are there. As you leave the crypt ,you are taken out via the inevitable gift shop.
All in all , if you have some spare time,it is worth a visit.

“Just like St Pauls”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2013

Its OK, it isnt that old. Ticket is 7e (plus 3e if you want the audio tour) and you get to go up to the walkway around the dome. Berlin isnt the most spectacular city to see from above so perhaps this was the best way to see it rather than the TV tower. The weirdest thing was the crypt which was full of past kings and queens; it didnt feel religious and didnt feel respectful, I wonder what they would make of all us plebs looking at them.
